Twin Peaks - Under The Sycamore Tree - Redux

With the 3rd series due this May, I thought I'd update a previous (2012) Twin Peaks post.
I've tried to pull together all the TP blog aspects and centralise it into one post.
It's the esoteric stuff, so don't expect anything like a typical standard interpretation.
This is not a beginners guide, it is for people who are familiar with the show and its mythos.
Be aware
There is extreme content (incest/paedophilia/abuse etc), these are aspects of the story.

I'll take you for a walk...under The Sycamore Tree

Series Finale
Twin Peaks...Glaston-bury Grove...Groves are sacred to druids.

Lets not forget Mark Frost's massive contribution...a lot of esoteric ideas likely came from his pen.

The Egyptian & Druid...'one and the same' (essentially) and they both revered Thoth/Hermes and to both of them, trees were sacred.  David Lynch has 'shoe-horned' in so many 'tree-like' references within Twin Peaks, that to call him 'Druid-like' wood be a massive understatement. (pun intended).

Douglas Firs
Logging Trucks
'Great Northern' decor is almost like living inside a tree.
The Log Lady (& husband soul absorbed into the log)
Josie's death (absorbed into a wooden knob)
The Woods (general, an evil presence etc)
Glastonbury Grove
Chopping Wood (literally)
Log cabin(s)
Pine Weasel/Pine Float get the idea.

Note, it wasn't 'only trees' that were being constantly referenced - others were 'circles' 'birds' and 'fire' etc.

12 Sycamore Trees (Glastonbury Grove)...12 Zodiacal signs, 12 Knights of the Round Table (Zodiac).

The petroglyph/map

The entrance
The Doorway (above mid-left) to The Red Room (Waiting Room/White/Black Lodges) Can Be
Entered Physically When Jupiter and Saturn are Aligned.

Finale...Beyond Life and Death
Good luck trying to make sense out of all The episode S2 Ep22 (Beyond Life and Death) can be viewed at this link (see 29mins+ for the lodges) -

Here is some of my take on the 'sycamore' and how it relates to mythology...particularly Egyptian.

"In the meantime, the body of Osiris in its coffin floats out to sea and comes ashore in Byblos, where a sycamore tree (see Plutarch) sprouts and encases the coffin. Isis hears of this and goes to reclaim her husband's body, which -- after some trouble -- she succeeds in doing. She hides his remains and goes to find their son, Horus, but in the meantime Set finds the body and, fearing the new healing powers of Isis, cuts it up into 14 pieces and scatters them far and wide."
(note, sometimes this tree is referenced as a tamarisk).

(a tradition kept alive in masonry...'lodges'...the initiate is encased in a coffin to re-enact this symbolic  death/rebirth 'The 3rd Degree' etc...the legend of hiram abiff/osiris/the sun)
Note...that the tree here is Acacia and relates to Horus, who is born out of Osiris symbolically.
Isis impregnates (using the magic of Thoth)...and produces Horus.

Leland's multiple symbolic death and rebirth. Leland "rising up an down" on Laura's coffin at the burial.

Eventually, Isis is able to recover 13 of the pieces, leaving a shrine at every place she found one. The 14th piece -- his genitals --(symbolised by the obelisk, there is a big one in DC, its a symbolic penis) was, however, eaten by fish.  Still, Isis manages to reassemble Osiris and, with the help of Thoth, Anubis and Nephythys, they manage to resurrect him, at which point he becomes the God of the Underworld, or God of the Dead, and takes his place in the heavens as the constellation Orion. At the time, Orion set at sunrise on the winter solstice, thereby symbolically entering the Underworld, to be reborn as he rises heliacally on the summer solstice.

According to the Book of Dead, twin sycamores stood at the eastern gate of heaven from which the sun god Re emerged each morning. The sycamore was also regarded as a manifestation of the goddesses Nut (Sky), Isis, and especially of Hathor, who was given the epithet Lady of the Sycamore. (Miss Twin Peaks/Annie/Hathor Graham) Sycamores were often planted near tombs, and burials  (Glaston-bury) in coffins made of sycamore wood returned the dead to the womb of the mother tree goddess.

Stanley Kubrick requested to be buried under his favourite tree...probably because he WAS a DRUID.

Hathor is commonly depicted as a cow goddess with head horns in which is set a sun disk with Uraeus(serpent).
Lady of the Sycamore...Hathor/Isis

"Since Isis was paired with Horus, and Horus was identified with Ra, Isis began to be merged with Hathor as Isis-Hathor. By merging with Hathor, Isis became the mother of Horus, as well as his wife. Eventually the mother role displaced the role of spouse. Thus, the role of spouse to Isis was open and in the Heliopolis pantheon, Isis became the wife of Osiris and the mother of Horus/Ra. This reconciliation of themes led to the evolution of the myth of Isis and Osiris."

Annie (Miss Twin Peaks/Queen) could be a 'lady of the sycamore' (for obvious reasons, she gets taken into the grove and pulled through the doorway/wormhole) played by Hathor Graham.  As a Queen, she could also symbolically represent the queen of the underworld aka Isis.

Windom Earle parks the truck in the woods at Glastonberry Grove. He introduces himself to Annie, and pulls her from the truck. She recites prayers to herself as he leads her to the grove. He tells her they have an appointment at the end of the world; he pulls her in to the circle of trees, then leads her past the white circle. She walks in an apparent trance. Earle leads her through red curtains that appear behind the trees. They vanish.

Miss Twin Peaks - Queen Annie - Heather/Hathor Graham - Queen Isis

Major Garland Briggs...The 'Heywood Floyd' of Twin Peaks.

The Egyptian’s Holy Sycamore stood on the threshold of life and death, connecting the worlds.

Obviously...In Twin Peaks the 'grove' is a portal/gateway/wormwhole to another world.
The white lodge and the black lodge.  So all this is making perfect sense.

"One chants out between two worlds" (connecting the worlds, as outlined above)

The earth plane & the etheric plane...two worlds.
This chant seems just like a 'call' (vibrational) and in the magickal sense.

The Twin Peaks 'lodges' dealt with a 'white lodge' (good/heaven) and a 'black lodge' (evil/hell).
A duality, and one that is also reflected in the doppelganger (good/evil, self/shadow self, higher spiritual self/lower bestial self etc). The 'Bob/Mike, Convenience Store people' likely represented black lodge inhabitants, feeding off of evil (pain and suffering etc). We ultimately see Laura (and Cooper) in the 'white lodge' at the close of the film, a scene which actually occurs a few months after her death (see missing pieces), and perhaps even occurs after the the timeline of the ending of the TV series.
The series also implies (imo) that Major Briggs made it to the white lodge - implying a type of perfection.

Lodge waiting room. (So we're told.)
In fact, it IS the Black Lodge...Windom (via Sarah) notifies Briggs that he is in the Black Lodge with Cooper.
We already know (via) Hawk that every 'soul' on it's way to perfection, must first pass through the Black Lodge!  Therefore the Black Lodge is the starting point for ALL who attempt to make it to the White Lodge (cross the abyss to spiritual perfection).

The 'waiting room' is perhaps an aspect that always precedes journeys through the black lodge.

Cooper in the Black Lodge (final episode). He seemingly fails the test, and his fear (running from his doppelganger, not confronting it) likely prevents him from accessing the 'White Lodge' - this (apparently) could only be mastered by using 'love' to open the door. The sycamore circle - Earle uses Annie's fear to access the lodges, whereas Cooper's love for Annie will give him access.
Seeing as though the Sycamore is a tree, it could be taken as a link to the 'tree of life' and therefore conversely 'death'!  (life/death...white lodge/black lodge...good/evil).

Tree of life = sephiroth   tree of death = qliphoth....qabala/kabbala folks.

In the final episode - Cooper hears an owl, sees the circle of trees and the white circle of rocks, looks down at the oil and says, “an opening to a gateway.” The sycamore is also known as the 'plane tree' - which evokes the astral/etheric plane.

The sycamore can also be viewed as a rendition of Isis...and in art she was sometimes portrayed this way.
Horus 'suckling' Isis who is manifested as a Sycamore.
Mural...Isis, who appears in the holy sycamore tree. Workmen's Tombs (13th BCE), Deir el-Medina, Egypt.

Stars shining bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper "I love you"
Birds singing in the sycamore trees
Dream a little dream of me

Say nighty-night and kiss me
Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me
While I'm alone and blue as can be
Dream a little dream of me

Stars fading but I linger on dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger till dawn dear
Just saying this

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me

Stars shining up above you
Night breezes seem to whisper "I love you"
Birds singing in the sycamore trees
Dream a little dream of me

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me

Yes, dream a little dream of me.

Mamas and Dugpas...
Stars shining bright above you. Night breezes seem to whisper "I love you"
Birds singing in the sycamore trees. Dream a little dream of me
Cooper's Dream:  "Where we're from, the birds sing a pretty song and there's always music in the air."
MFAP/Dwarf - Twin Peaks series   "Birds singing in the sycamore trees"
In the series (in a literal sense) is referenced to the phonograph at Jacques cabin, but this piece is attempting to unpick layers of meaning, just so you know.

A "red dwarf" is also a "star". Planets are also heavily featured in the programme, particularly towards the climax. The first thing you notice when Cooper enters the 'Black Lodge' is a statue depicting 'Venus' - and then we get an actual representation of Saturn in the room. Add in Jupiter (where Jupiter and Saturn meet) and that is 3 planets that have been referenced in the space of a few mninutes (final episode)!

Saturn Lamp - Black Lodge

 "A dream...we live inside a DREAM."
Philip Jeffries/David Bowie - Fire Walk With Me
"In dreams I walk with you, In dreams I talk to you,
In dreams you're mine all of the time, We're together in dreams, in dreams."
Frank - Orbison's In Dreams, Blue Velvet
"A place beyond your dreams."  Also Paul's multiple 'dream sequences' related to the moon/spice etc
"I had a dream about this place."(plus the 'Winkies' OZ connection)
Dan/D(i)an(e) @ the Diner, Mulholland Drive.
"I mean I just came here from Deep River, Ontario, and now I'm in this dream place."
Betty Elms (for the wood connection) Mulholland Drive

Dream sequence that begins the film.
The Elephant Man
Fred: "I had a dream last night."
Lost Highway
 'Henry's dream sequence'

This dream stuff is turning into a bit of a nightmare. Ok, so you get the point, I could go on, but won't. Lynch talks to us in 'Dreams' - that is what his work does (in part, at least). It seemingly communicates with our 'dream logic centre' our 'subconscious' - I think so, in some way at least.

Glastonbury Grove
The King Arthur connection is interesting. Avalon, according to a certain scholar could be a phonic echo of Afalon, deriving from welsh for the apple.  This potentially puts it into the realms of Eden, (for obvious reasons) and we're back again to the tree - the 'tree of knowledge' Genesis (or Gene of Isis, if you prefer.)

Geoffrey of Monmouth called it in Latin Insula Avallonis in the Historia. In the later Vita Merlini he called it Insula Pomorum the "isle of apples". The name is generally considered to be of Welsh origin (though an Old Cornish or Old Breton origin is also possible), derived from Old Welsh abal, "apple", or aball, "apple tree" (in later Middle Welsh spelled aval, avall; now Modern Welsh afal, afall). Genesis "apple and the fall of man" (a-fall).

Re: Arthur - have a look at this from Comyns Beaumont, found in his brilliant work -
'The Riddle of Pre-Historic Britain'...relating Arthur to Osiris.
Grove as in Druid's Grove, tree worshippers etc.

Now you know why there is a pyramid stage at the yearly Glastonbury Festival.
It all makes symbolic sense.

Briggs being depicted as King Arthur/Osiris
Hence Briggs exclaiming...“which way to the castle!?” (Camelot)

The bones of "Arthur" (Merlin being his magician/wizard) were said to be extremely large in size and the skull they found had, among many wounds, a large "gash," suggesting death by a blow to the head. (hence Briggs' wounded head).

Thru the darkness of future past, the magician longs to see. One chants out between 2 worlds: Fire Walk With Me.
We lived among the people - I think you say convenience store? We lived above it. I mean it like it is, as it sounds.
My name is Mike. His name is Bob.

Note, this above quote was from the first series. The 'convenience store scene' was from the movie FWWM.
Living 'above it' (above, below) perhaps meaning both physical world and the ether, but who knows?

See the full "Convenience Store" scene here...

Missing Pieces - the above scene takes place exactly one year after Teresa Banks was killed.

Convenience Store scene - the exact time (10:10) and date are very specific for this sequence. He clearly refers to the fact that Gordon is previously aware of the details of Cooper's prior dream (Cole's "I know" line). Cooper dreamed this would happen (Bowie turning up at the FBI office, hence Cooper looking for him via the CCTV) and then the dream plays out in real 'film' life, and at the exact time that he was given in his dream. A total WTF scene! Lodge inhabitants (it is implied) are able to travel via electricity and portals, which explains Bowie's sudden disappearance.

I do like how Lynch used Bowie in this particular scene, his persona being charged with the ideas of 'fallen star gods'.
The Man Who Fell to Earth, Ziggy Stardust from Mars etc. I don't think this was just a random choice of actor.

The Convenience Store Scene - 7-11 or Circle K? Bowie : "I've been to one of their meetings."

"This is a Formica table, green is its color" - said by MFAP (dwarf).
This is a for-mica (rock/stone) table(t). A green rock based table/tablet.

So maybe the table(t) is referring to the 'green rock' of the Emerald Tablet.

But it's a table, not a tablet - you decry...
The Emerald Tablet is frequently referred to as the Emerald the likes of Manly P Hall etc.
"Among the fragmentary writings believed to have come from the stylus of Hermes are two famous works. The first is the Emerald Table, and the second is the Divine Pymander, or, as it is more commonly called, The Shepherd of Men."
Manly P Hall, The Secret Teaching of All Ages

"Emerald is it's color" - and there is a small circular section of table top - which is cut out.

"With this (magickal) ring I thee wed" (a binding contract between Bob and MFAP)
The 'ring' that likely denotes a life due to be sacrificed (a victim felled, Laura/Teresa). Felled - like dead timber or a tree. A 'ring' that ensures that the 'garmonbozia' (the victim's 'psychic' pain & suffering in food form) will be collected, and then delivered to the appropriate 'magickian/entity' for consumption in a psychic manner. The bowls and pans on the table in the first pic above contain garmonbozia (like creamed corn).
This is why 'Mike/one-armed man' throws 'the ring' into the train carriage moments before Laura's killing (at the hands of Bob/Leland - FWWM).
She puts the ring on her finger - which actually prevents Bob from possessing her, and it also ensures that 'Mike/one-armed man' gets his garmonbozia, after her death (at Bob's hands). It's the same ring that was seen on Teresa Banks, but she died without it - 'corn stealing' Bob, stole her garmonbozia (hence the missing ring). The ring also seems to function as a transportation device too, but we only see that in respect of males - see Bowie (Jeffries) and Isaak (Desmond). It's implied that the ring transports them both, and in Bowie's case - to Black Lodge.

The "O" sound - just like the "whooping" (O) type noise that we hear MFAP (red dwarf). make on occasion.
"The name Hermes (he of the emerald table) is derived from "Herm," a form of CHiRaM (CRM), the Personified Universal Life Principle, generally represented by fire ("fire walk with me"). The Scandinavians (note, Twin Peaks' Norwegians) worshiped Hermes under the name of Odin; the Teutons as Wotan, and certain of the Oriental peoples as Buddha, or Fo.

The Emerald Stone Table(t)/Ring. Hence...

This shot with the car is seen when Cooper visits the trailer park to investigate what happened to Agent Desmond (Chris Isaac). He was seemingly transported to another place (which also happens with Jeffries/Bowie) after picking up the magickal ring there. He then goes on the missing list. Well, they find his car left like this (after he vanishes into the ether) and with the 'Let's Rock' tag written on it.

This connects the ring and the car (with tag) together.
The 'rock ring' made from the missing chunk of the formica table(t)/emerald tablet.

Rock as in (For)Mica...Rock.
Just the sheer 'nerdy-ness' of stating that it's made of Formica, perhaps suggests that mind should be paid to it.
The mineral mica was commonly used at that time for electrical insulation.
Because the new product acted as a substitute “for mica”, Faber coined the name “Formica”.

The Emerald Table(t) of Twin Peaks.

Corn stealing - Bob/Leland. FWWM car scene.
The One-armed Man (aka Mike) wants Laura's accumulated pain and suffering (represented by the garmonbozia/creamed corn) - he receives this upon her death. Mike is superior to Bob in the lodge hierarchy. Bob, however, has been "stealing" this garmonbozia (corn) from Mike - that is why there is a dispute between them. Bob, stealing Mike's garmonbozia from "above/over the store". Bob likely stole the garmonbozia from Teresa Banks' killing. The One-armed Man is telling Bob/Leland that he's on to him, he's warning him. (Bob doesn't want the garmonbozia this time though, he wants to possess her). One-armed Man even tells Laura/Leland what is going to happen to her - he likely waves the ring (on his pinky/little finger) to remind Bob of his obligation. This is the ring that is thrown to Laura in the train car.

One-armed Man: "Miss, the look on her face when it was opened. There was a closeness. Like the formica table top."
"Wrapped in plastic" (like formica table plastic). The word "mica" is derived from the Latin word mica, meaning "a crumb", and probably influenced by micare, "to glitter". (Rocky/stoney-like crumbs on her face, almost like face glitter).

"This is a for-mica table..."
Mica (a rock-forming mineral). The mica group of sheet silicate (phyllosilicate) minerals includes several closely related materials having close to perfect basal cleavage. All are monoclinic, with a tendency towards pseudohexagonal crystals, and are similar in chemical composition. The nearly perfect cleavage, which is the most prominent characteristic of mica, is explained by the hexagonal sheet-like arrangement of its atoms. The highest quality mica film is used to manufacture capacitors for calibration standards. The next lower grade is used in transmitting capacitors. Receiving capacitors use a slightly lower grade of high-quality muscovite. Muscovite, the principal mica used by the electrical industry, is used in capacitors that are ideal for high frequency and radio get the idea, I'm sure.
(perhaps a transmitter & a receiver!)

Here come "radio rock stars" Isaak and Bowie...Let's Rock.

Electric 7 - same type of number tile and colour background. Left, the utility pole has a transformer-like box attached to it.
Note, the Tremond-Chalfont trailer (linked to the ring/ether transportation) behind Desmond (Isaak) and Rodd (Stanton).

Formica - invented at the Westinghouse Electric Corp., it was originally used to replace mica in electrical applications.
"Electricity"....and an 'opening of the mouth' moment. The (black) electrician from the convenience store.
There is an aspect where these (astral/ether) 'lodge inhabitants' travel via electricity.
Pyramid of the Sun (Mexico City)
The pyramid contained considerable amounts of mica in layers up to 30 cm (12 in) thick.
Recall, that it's the (Egyptian/Greek) "Phila(e)-delphi(a)" office - where the 'convenience store' tale is told.
Philae, Egypt - the Temple of Isis. Delphi, the oracle, dreams and future-telling.

The Electrician (again)
Black Lodge Bob is able to incarnate into/spirit possess 'animal familiars' (the owl etc).
Twin Peaks, Lyedecker's Vet Clinic. The beast, the rock and the (actual) store. Situated on Mulholland H-way.
Cooper and the beast incarnate - 'foreshadowing' - beastly Bob will incarnate into/possess him at the show's finale.

"We lived among the people - I think you say convenience store?
We lived above it. I mean it like it is, as it sounds. My name is Mike. His name is BOB."
They are certainly linked characters. The long-nosed mask/face and (sycamore?) wood object (like a slingshot) are seen together. The Convenience Store based "jumping man" (in similar attire to MFAP) is very tricky to decipher.
He's clearly another spirit, it could be that Jumping Man is the spirit entity, and the (jumping) boy is his (magickal) familiar. Linked to Leland/Bob (above), probably a black lodge warning, keeping an eye on Bob. The scene with Laura, Ronette, and Teresa. Leland's 'group sex liaison' - the one that he backed-out of.

Red Diamond Motel (diamond, a rock). Above, right - could that be the Chalfont/Tremond trailer/caravan, or a representation of it? We know one disappeared from the Fat Trout, it was used by the old woman and boy/magician (seen above). A utility pole (electrical) nearby too.

It's even possible that (red) Jumping Man represents the 'ultimate evil', as in an avatar for the devil.
In the Convenience Store clip - Bob seemingly interacts and is linked with the Jumping Man.
The formal outfit worn by 'the boy/Jumping Man' are very similar (boy's is identical) to what Cooper actually wears.
Bowie is sucked in to this scene by being transported from Buenos Aires, likely under the agency of the black lodge.
The possession of Cooper (by Bob) is potentially the ultimate goal of the black lodge dwellers.
It is after all, what we see happen to him at the end of series 2 - after failing in the black lodge (How's Annie? etc).
The black lodge's catalyst for Cooper's possession, is therefore, the bringing of Cooper to Twin Peaks to solve Laura's murder (this is how he is ultimately drawn in).

(Above) Note, 'Cooper/Jumping Man' are superimposed, and at the point where Jeffries questions his identity.
Jumping man's arm movement mimics that of Jeffries - black lodge spirits that have pulled Jeffries into this Philly scene.
During this recollection he points to Cooper and states - "Who do you think this is there?"

Jumping Man could be Cooper's master controlling entity - the boy could represent (the to be possessed) Cooper.
Head (noggin) bumping/bashing is also referenced by Agent Rosenfield (right) in the Philly scene.
Is FBI Jeffries (Bowie) trying to indicate that Cooper is not what he seems, or that he might become not what he seems (as in possessed)? This would be precognition of the future, FWWM being the last seven days of Laura, the TV series starting with the discovery of her body. The Bowie scene takes place in Phila-DELPHI-a, Delphi, the oracle - dreams, future telling etc. Cooper begins the scene mentioning his dream to Gordon. We also know he has had prior dream/vision contact with Laura because it's shown via the film's Tremond/Chalfont picture frame dream - advising her not to take the ring.
The dream/vision (below) also precognitively indicates Annie's fate at the end of the TV series.
You can see red room type curtains at 3.45secs behind Laura - this picture is a portal to the black lodge.

Is it future or is it past? Time is seemingly non-linear in the red room. Related Saturn (Cronos) is linked to time.
Perhaps, the Convenience Store meeting scene is ultimately about getting to and possessing Cooper (which occurs via Laura), he being the final prize. The clip also shows Cooper having contact with the lodges (likely black) and MFAP - before Cooper has even set foot in Twin Peaks. All something to consider at least, Lynch's work is impenetrable to many people, so complete answers are very hard to come by.

If "the boy" is not related to Cooper, then he's an avatar for Bowie (see hair), who was present at the convenience store.
Jeffries formerly witnessed the Convenience Store meeting (retold here in Philly), he arrived at the store via the ring found at Judy's in Seattle. Bowie also mentions Judy, just before he is teleported from Buenos Aires to Philadelphia. Judy was (likely) Josie Packard's sister. Josie was also likely possessed (and killed) by Bob - she's connected to him as the 2nd series showed. It was Josie who shot Cooper, and likely under the aegis of Bob. The "owl/Cooper" space message (sent at the time of his shooting) indicates some of this activity.

An episode in season 2 (Coma) - directly related to the above 'convenience store' scene, and a few of the same protagonists (Mrs Tremond/Chalfont, and young boy aka Pierre) also feature, as do references to 'magick' and 'the garmonbozia'.
COMA -Season 2 Episode 2 (directed by David Lynch)
David Lynch's own son plays the 'magickian'!

Mmmm - yum, yum Garmonbozia (creamed corn), psychic 'pain & suffering' to be consumed.
Note, this 'magickian'role is played by someone else in the film's 'convenience store' scene. (shown above).

The (tarot) Devil, fire and Baphomet - adopting the sign/gesture of "as above, so below" (as per the tablet).
Jumping Man - as a type of 'master of ceremonies' and (red) fiery devil. (see his flaming torch)
The series does actually reference '666' and in respect of the woods/lodges. You'll see this later.
Log Lady's (deceased) husband is present in the Convenience Store - the 'woodsman' (far right & flipped below).

"We live inside a dream..."
Margaret/Log Lady's woodsman husband (Prochnow) "met the devil" (fire and the Black Lodge) and likely strayed into the Glastonbury portal which could have led him to contact with Black Lodge, and its inhabitants. Fire IS the devil - fire is also linked to possession, and is the cause of his death (but not a "kind" fire, as Margaret makes clear). "Fire Walk With Me" is also an operative phrase (magickal/vibrational chant) that is seemingly linked to actual possession (see what happens to Laura when she utters it). The woodsman's earlier gathering of oil (on the night before his death) from this area also supports the idea of straying via this location. This all happened just before, and on the night of their wedding (love, "fear and love open the doors"). The woods are called GHOSTWOOD - many times we're informed of the spirits held within these woods (in a literal sense).
Log Lady's husband (a woodsman/lumberjack) is another that was likely/possibly possessed by these Black Lodge inhabitants, just as I believe that "saw mill/logging" Josie was too, hence her spirit being embedded into the drawer knob (by Black Lodge Bob/Mike). The woodsman entity (seen at the convenience store) might be his doppelganger. It's also possible that an aspect of the woodman's spirit is embedded in her "log" - hence why she communicates with it etc, and is aware of some of the "lodge" activities etc. Margaret also has aspects of the (Owl cave tattoo). It's also a bit unusual to use an established actor like Prochnow, for such a small cameo (non-speaking) role, they could've used anyone, but they used Jurgen. Accidental access to the black lodge and its entities is shown via Bowie (Jeffries), Isaak (Desmond) both via the ring, and possibly Carl "I've gone places" Rodd (Fat Trout, Stanton). Banks (murdered by Bob/Leland at Fat Trout), had the ring when she was staying at Carl's Fat Trout trailer park.

Dune - "The sleeper must awaken" (Jurgen "FWWM - Convenience Store" Prochnow)
Said by Jurgen (Leto) to his son - 'sleeper/dreamer' Paul (Cooper/MacLachlan)
We live inside a dream.  (Convenience Store, Bowie)

Albert Rosenfeld (Miguel Ferrer). His real father (Jose) played Emperor Shaddam IV in Dune.
I know this is all hard to follow, and a total mind fuck, but that's Lynch in a nutshell. Half of the fun is deciphering him and his work! Don't get too bogged-down in the detail, just appreciate the flavours/overlaps being used.

Log Lady: "My husband was a logging man. He met the devilFire is the devil, hiding like a coward in the smoke."

Could this also be an indicator for Jumping Man being the symbolic devil - this is Fire Walk With Me?
Jumping Man perches on a plastic type of 'black smoke box'. The Devil (tarot) perches on a black box.

Black Lodge, Windom: 'These evil sorcerers, dugpas they're called, they cultivate evil for the sake of evil and nothing else. They express themselves in darkness - for darkness, without leavening motive. This ardent purity allows them to access a secret place, where the cultivation of evil proceeds in exponential fashion. And with it, the furtherance of evil's resulting power.'

The senior 'black lodge' entity missing from the conv. store is Mike/one-armed man, an entity who inhabits Gerard.

At the close of FWWM he is bodily shown as one-armed man/Gerard (linking with red dwarf/MFAP).
MFAP (man from another place) is literally the "arm" of the complete lodge entity that is Mike.
It's one-armed Mike that makes the quote about the convenience store, so he is a key proponent of the whole arrangement.

Mike is also superior to Bob in the lodge hierarchy, as his garmonbozia demands (made at the film's close) demonstrate.
MFAP (Mike's arm) consumes the 'garmonbozia' (Laura's psychic pain) at the end - you use an actual arm to eat etc.

Considering all this, it's possible that Jumping 'convenience store' Man could be a representation of Mike, but in his "etheric/spirit entity" state, not as the human form one-armed Gerard. I'm just covering all the bases.

Finally, Jumping Man can be linked to the concept of Heyoka - a type of jester/fool (tarot), North American medicine man. The Heyókȟa is thought of as being backwards-forwards, upside-down, or contrary in nature. This manifests by their doing things backwards or unconventionally — riding a horse backwards, wearing clothes inside-out, or speaking in a backwards language.
Lakota mythology, Heyókȟa is a spirit of thunder and lightning - said to use the wind as sticks to beat the drum of thunder.
These conditions are reflected in the convenience store - windy/stormy, a room with plastic storm windows etc.
In art, he is depicted as having two horns, which marks him as a hunting spirit.
Note - how old heyoka depictions feature a 'horned' entity (see devil/baphomet).

Before the Coma episode begins proper...we get the following:
Check out this 'log lady' intro from this episode...I can't say I was surprised to find it!
Relevant, due to the fact that it heavily relates to the mysterious 'convenience store' scene we just mentioned.
 Log Lady(intro):
"As above, so below."The human being finds himself, or herself, in the middle. There is as much space outside the human, proportionately, as inside. Stars, moons and planets remind us of protons, neutrons and electrons. Is there a bigger being walking with all the stars within? Does our thinking affect what goes on outside us and what goes on inside us? I think it does. Where does creamed corn figure into the workings of the universe?
What really is creamed corn? Is it a symbol for something else?

The first maxim on the Emerald Tablet of Thoth/Hermes...As above, so below.
Microcosm & Macrocosm, as explained in the intro above.

It cannot get anymore BLATANT than that.

The Dialogue from the Convenience Store...TP:FWWM.

FIRST WOODSMAN (subtitled) We have desended from pure air.
 (the probably the reference!)

MAN FROM ANOTHER PLACE (subtitled) Going up and down. Intercourse between the two worlds.
(as above, so below - their interaction via the ether and material planes. Intercourse and possession via sex)

BOB (subtitled) Light of new discoveries.  (we're about to make one!)

MRS. TREMOND/CHALFONT (subtitled) Why not be composed of materials and combinations of atoms?
(this is suggestive of 'spirits' occupying 'material' bodies, likely indicating the possession they utilise.)

MRS. TREMOND'S GRANDSON (subtitled) This is no accident.
(these activities a deliberate)

MAN FROM ANOTHER PLACE (subtitled) This is a formica table. Green is its color.  He touches the table.
(we've done that one!)

FIRST WOODSMAN (subtitled) Our world.  (the table/tablet in their etheric world)

MAN FROM ANOTHER PLACE (subtitled) With chrome. And everything will proceed cyclically.
(chrome may indicate 'reflective mirrors' an aspect related to possession - a la Bob. Alternatively, see below.)

The convenience store is also a "diner" scene - the bowls of garmonbozia indicate that much.
This 1950s brand may have even been used for the actual film. Lynch certainly loves the 50s.
Chrome - early 19th century: from French, from Greek khrōma ‘colour’ ("green is its colo(u)r").

SECOND WOODSMAN (subtitled) Boneless.
(perhaps a reference to an etheric/spirit entity, boneless)

MIKE (subtitled) Yes, find the middle place. Bob begins to scream with anger.
(between heaven & earth...our plane of existance)

(he's a pissed entity!)

TREMOND'S GRANDSON (subtitled) Fell a victim.
(perhaps a request for a new kill victim...for harvesting garmonbozia/pain & suffering)

The Man From Another Place raises his hand.

MAN FROM ANOTHER PLACE (subtitled)  With this ring, I thee wed.
(a contract, using the ring to bind the parties)

Bob claps his hand and a circle of fire appears in the room. BOB (subtitled) Fire Walk With Me.

ON THE SCENE Bob crawls into the Red Room and MFAP starts to yell and leaps in after him.
(a few bits are from the shooting script, which were left out of the finished [cut] film, but they are relevant.)

Red Rum (The Shining) - Red Room (Twin Peaks). The phonetics of rum, could be room, as in rumour.
There is 'backwards writing' in The Shining (REDRUM) and 'backwards talking' in the RED-ROOM.

The Navajo (The Shining) inspired American Indian...Hawk (wasn't Horus a Hawk?)

"Legend says that every spirit must pass through there (the black lodge) on the way to perfection."
Dweller on the Threshold
Deputy Tommy 'Hawk' Hill: My people believe that the White Lodge is a place where the spirits that rule man and nature reside. There is also a legend of a place called the Black Lodge. The shadow self of the White Lodge. Legend says that every spirit must pass through there on the way to perfection. There, you will meet your own shadow self.
My people call it The Dweller on the Threshold.

Special Agent Dale Cooper: Dweller on the Threshold.

'Hawk' Hill: But it is said that if you confront the Black Lodge with imperfect courage, it will utterly annihilate your soul.

Dwellers and Doppelgangers. Earle & Hawk both mention 'the lodges' - as does Briggs.
The Dweller on the Threshold - a term first coined by [Rosicrucian linked] Bulwer-Lytton, see Zanoni).
Lynch and Rosicrucianism...Blue "rose cross" Velvet
"Dweller" resonant Bulwer-Lytton was a Rosicrucian (rose cross) godfather - of sorts. Angels and roses.
Ancient and Mystical Order Rosæ Crucis (Rose Cross), also called the Rosicrucian Order (AMORC).

The Blue Rose on Red - Twin Peaks (FWWM)
FWWM - Red Roses (Laura's room), the painting 'red room' portal/doorways and bed clothing.
Angels and Roses - the "portal painting" is placed alongside the "angel picture".

Below is a brief description of what Rosi-crucian students will learn during their future years of affiliation with AMORC.

These teachings are part of the Rosicrucian Monographs.
Imo...this evokes many aspects of the Twin Peaks universe, particularly those highlighted in red.
Mystery Schools via the Isis Egyptian Sycamore, Tibet/telepathy via Cooper, astrology etc etc.
Tibetan Buddhism is sometimes referred to as the vajrayana, which can be translated as the "lightning way".
Cooper's fingers on the star map (discussing the opening of the doors) Orion/Osiris between them.
The Dark Night of the Soul...and David Lynch.
Twin Peaks' Ben experiences his own 'the long dark night of the soul' (inferring a type of ego death) via his jailing - s2 ep9.
The 'invisible masters' an aspect of the Dugpas etc.

Episode Season 2. Eps 20 (1991). The evil sorcerous Dugpas.

Windom Earle: These evil sorcerers, dugpas they're called, they cultivate evil for the sake of evil and nothing else. They express themselves in darkness -- for darkness, without leavening motive. This ardent purity allows them to access a secret place, where the cultivation of evil proceeds in exponential fashion. And with it, the furtherance of evil's resulting power. This place of power is tangible, and as such, it can be found, entered, and perhaps, utilised in some fashion. The dugpas have many names for it, but chief among them - [cough] - is the Black Lodge. But you don't believe me, do you?
You think I'm mad. Overworked. Go away.

Windom Earle: The planets (Jupiter & Saturn) our babbling major spoke of are more than distant orbs. They are, in fact, a clock (chronos/saturn - chronology/time). A clock that tells the time. And the time...time draws nearer with each ticking tock! Dale wasn't far wrong. The cave painting is an invitation of sorts, telling us when the revels begin. But what Dale doesn't know is where to find it. For you see, the cave painting is not only an invitation, it is also a map -- a map to the Black Lodge!

Chronos/Cronos/Saturn - was depicted in Greco-Roman mosaics as a man turning the Zodiac Wheel.

Earle ahas a fascination with the Black Lodge, whose secrets he is trying to unlock, as well as black magic.
Major Garland Briggs states that Earle was involved in Project Blue Book, as was Briggs; however, their investigation in which Earle was involved was directly related to Twin Peaks and not the usual UFO investigations.

Earle mentions the 'black lodge' in this episode and says...
[Windom Earle has Major Briggs tide up to a target mat with a crossbow aimed at him]
The arrow of Windom (Apollo) attempting to slay the cyclops (bulls-eye).

Windom Earle: When did you first see the symbol in Owl Cave?
Major Briggs: I'm not at liberty to divulge that information.
Windom Earle: Cheater!
[Windom fires an arrow at Briggs, missing his head by inches]
Windom Earle: What does the cave painting mean?
Major Briggs: [more firm tone] I'm not at liberty to divulge that information.
Windom Earle: Damn, but I love the military mind.

The sephiroth/qliphoth does seem comparable to the dual white/black lodge concept (in the spiritual sense).
The 'entropic' nature of the 'qliphoth' lending itself quite nicely to the domain of Bob & friends...their purpose seemingly being to feed off the cultivation of suffering.

Briggs and his disappearance in the woods...
Briggs: "I was night fishing with...Agent Cooper. There was a light...a guardian beyond it.
I was taken...but my mind...still I recognised the signs."
 Briggs disappears and/or is abducted.

This sudden abduction is highly reminiscent of the reports of alien abductions throughout recent history. That resemblance might help to explain why it is that the Major studies deep space communications, as a part of his classified Intelligence work.

Major Garland (Judy) Briggs, after he gets seemingly abducted or goes through a portal...he finally comes back a few days later, and is left totally bewildered etc. It's here that this tattoo is then discovered on his neck, but with no explanation.
Briggs Neck Tattoo...Mark of Choronzon. He reacts to the symbol after touching a tree.
From the (space) abyss
I have yet to see anyone reference the 3 triangle symbol on Briggs' neck as the symbol of the 'Demon/Guardian of the Abyss'/'Dweller on the Threshold'...generally known as Choronzon.
Briggs' tattoo is identical to the symbol of Choronzon.  Choronzon is mentioned in the workings of Elizabethan John Dee (007) & Kelley with respect to Enochian magick.

On the 'tree of life' (below), Choronzon represents the Guardian of the the 2nd veil, who resides in the sphere of Daath.
I think comparisons can be made with 'the tree of life'/'tree of death' and the 'White Lodge'/'Black Lodge' idea.
The apex of the tree of life is the "crown" (kether) - Annie is the "crowned" tree queen.
Sphere 3 also represents Saturn, and sphere 4 represents Jupiter.
They both straddle the (dweller on the threshold of) da'ath wormhole. See "planets" on the tree of life.
"Where Jupiter (lightning) and Saturn (rings) meet."

Crowley states:
This doctrine is extremely difficult to explain; but it corresponds more or less to the gap in thought between the Real, which is ideal, and the Unreal, which is actual. In the Abyss all things exist, indeed, at least in posse, but are without any possible meaning; for they lack the substratum of spiritual Reality. They are appearances without Law. They are thus Insane Delusions. (like Brigg's probably during his experience and he certainly displays himself like this, after the event!)

Just wanted to point out that Briggs is marked with the symbol of Choronzon...well that is one possible interpretation at least. The fact that Briggs is heavily connected to 'Project Bluebook' dealing with ufo/extra-terrestrial (demonic?) contact is a key point imo...especially when connected with 'magick' and 'demons'..for if you look into Crowley's contact with the entity 'Lam' (Tibetan for 'way' or 'path' and Twin Peaks is stuffed with Tibetan mysticism).  It is 'Lam' the 'praeter-human' entity that bears more than just a glancing similarity to the classic UFO occupant...AKA 'the alien grey'.

Crowley's Lam (or shadow self) and The Great Wizard 'entity from OZ'.

We have Hawk, waxing lyrical about 'TDOTT' and meeting your shadow self (arguably Choronzon could be the shadow self) which bears many similarities to the Qabalistic apsects of 'crossing the abyss'...something that can be thought of as akin to a form of 'ego death'.
Aleister Crowley further altered and popularized the term in certain occult circles, referring to a "Brother of the Left-Hand Path," or a "Black Brother," as one who failed to attain the grade of Magister Templi in Crowley's system of ceremonial magic.  Crowley also referred to the Left-Hand Path when describing the point at which the Adeptus Exemptus (such as his old Christian mentor, Macgregor Mathers) chooses to cross the Abyss, which is the location of Choronzon and the illusory eleventh Sephira, which is Da'ath or Knowledge. In this example, the adept must surrender all, including the guidance of his Holy Guardian Angel, and leap into the Abyss. If his accumulated Karma is sufficient, and if he has been utterly thorough in his own self-destruction, he becomes a "babe of the abyss," arising as a Star in the Crowleyan system. On the other hand, if he retains some fragment of ego, or if he fears to cross, he then becomes encysted. The layers of his self, which he could have shed in the Abyss, ossify around him. He is then titled a "Brother of the Left-Hand Path," who will eventually be broken up and disintegrated against his will, since he failed to choose voluntary disintegration.  Crowley associated all this with "Mary, a blasphemy against BABALON," and with the celibacy of Christian clergy.
A brief aside and an example for understanding. Lynch, was once approached to direct Return of the Jedi.
Darth Vader = Da'ath Evader (a play on words)

A 'Black Brother' (literally) and 'Brother of the Left-Hand path'.
In some definitions, the 'Left-Hand Path' is equated with malicious Black Magic.
Update - August 2017
DO NOT discount any of this (kabbalistic magick) stuff in respect of its relationship to Twin Peaks. The recently penned book "The Secret History of Twin Peaks" (Mark Frost) has listed Aleister "OTO/Thelema/Tree of Life" Crowley, and (the related) Jack Whiteside Parson (OTO/Thelema/JPL rocketry) Parsons, as WEARERS of the Owl Cave Ring

I was writing and linking some of these weird kabbalistic aspects (see my work on 777) to the Twin Peaks universe long before that book and the 3rd series were even considered, let alone written and produced!
Other individuals who were documented as owning the ring included Jack Parsons. [2]
I've already written a little about Crowley, Parsons and Bowie (linked via 1947) in previous blog work.
Crowley, Parsons and Hubbard. See this 2008 written post (nearly 10 years ago) that I wrote concerning OTO Parsons (linked to Hubbard) and his dabbling in respect of magick and the nuclear tests etc.

All three are also linked to the Owl Cave RING. I've mentioned Bowie's 'Crowley' interest in earlier posts.
It was Crowley who penned the kabbalistic book "777" - linked to the "lightning tree of life."
David "777 kether to malkuth" Bowie - as Jeffries.

Back on track now...
This is important due to the nature of the story at this point, and the obvious allusion that Briggs went on some sort of metaphysical journey - perhaps 'The White Lodge' but who knows?
Maybe Briggs met his shadow self and defeated it, because he has to travel through the black lodge to get to the white lodge, in order attain perfection (as outlined by Hawk). This is unlike what happens with Cooper who fails. If the 3rd series had been made back in the 90s, I would expect that Cooper would've been possessed by Bob (as shown a the end of series 2), and that the series would've continued in that vein. I do like to think that Briggs passed his test and defeated the black lodge., and he may have even gone on to rescue Cooper from the black lodge. Windom does inform Briggs (final episode) that he is waiting for him in the black lodge - which helps support this idea. Briggs greatest fear in the world was the 'possibility that love wasn't enough' - which imo singled him out as a particularly special character, at least to me anyway. When considering Choronzon - we are in the realm of Qabala and its various alternative spellings, no pun intended.

Cooper: "Two 'symbols' combined into a larger whole."
The other mysterious symbol/glyph...also seen inside 'Owl Cave' and Cooper's drawing, made up of Tattoo's from Briggs (although it also relates to the abyss, as seen earlier) & The Log Lady.

This is also part referenced in 'the emerald ring' you can see and also inside 'owl cave'

All this Qabala, brings me a familiar & seemingly potent 'qabalistic number' and 'magick number of the sun'.

We're still in the same episode...Coma.

We also learn that the messages that the Major shared with Cooper (“The owls are not what they seem” and “CooperCooperCooper” written over and over) originated from the woods around Twin Peaks – the very location that’s been the focal point of the figurative and literal 'heart of darkness' in this town. The suggestion is that these signals came from earth and were sent up into space – a reversal of the sorts of “extraterrestrial transmission” into earth that we typically see in films and TV.

(The 3 Cooper's could be 'The Typical Dale', 'The Doppelganger Dale' and finally the 'Bob, Possessed Dale'.)
Three incarnations of Dale...Cooper/Cooper/Cooper, the message probably came from the Black Lodge in the woods (as Briggs states, from the wood and into space) and possibly a 'message' from the 'lodge inhabitants' to their masters/helpers in the ether. The main prize being the possession of FBI Agent Dale Cooper - a plan being designed all along etc.

After his 'abduction/portal crossing' return and Windom interrogation....Cooper and Truman (Sheriff) try to communicate with the Major, even calling him by his first name, Garland, though Briggs mistakes that as a reference to Judy Garland. A tie-in to The Wizard of Oz. The Oz theme is 'done to death' in Lynch's Wild at Heart, and I'm sure you're aware of the 'emerald' elements involved with the Oz mythos.
In his navajo/The Shining inspired wrap..."Judy Garland?"

Briggs mumbles...."Protect the queen" and "Fear and love open the doors."
Cooper figures it out: Two lodges, two doors. Fear opens the Black Lodge, love opens the White Lodge.
He also realises that protect the queen means Windom Earle probably is planning to abduct whoever wins the pageant.

The 'Real' Project Blue Book and William Garland:
"Another important change came when General William Garland joined Cabell's staff; Garland thought the UFO question deserved serious scrutiny because he had witnessed a UFO."  Perhaps this is one of the reasons that Lynch (or whoever) chose that name...the other being the 'Oz' connection.

Where Jupiter/Zeus and Saturn/Cronos meet...
Zeus threw his lightning/thunder bolts from Mount Olympus - which had two (Twin) peaks.
The zig-zag (lightning bolt) is one of Lynch's most utilised motifs. It's key in Twin Peaks and Erase-rhea-d.

UFO - an Unidentified Flying Owl
Zeus - repeatedly transformed (like shape-shifting Bob) to approach mortals (usually females) as a means of gaining access.
Owl resonant Athena (wisdom) - who was born from the cleft of (Greek lightning/shape shifting god) Zeus's axed head.
In Clash of the Titans - the gods oversee and influence the activity and development of men.
Twin 'Olympus' Peaks featured Billy "Titan-ic" Zane - who also connects to the 'lightning bolt' via 'enchantment under the sea' - Back to the Future. Neptune (Poseidon) is seen at the under the sea dance. Zane played Neptune in Going Overboard (1989).
We've just previously mentioned '666'. Zane (Cal Hockley) would feature with "The '666' Omen" actor - David 'Twin Peaks' Warner (Spicer Lovejoy) in Titan-ic. Warner also starred in "S.O.S Titanic" (1979).
As I've stated before, the tale of the Titanic, in itself, encapsulates the war between the Olympian Gods and the Titans.
The Titans, of course (like the Titanic vessel, who had an Olympic sister ship), were ultimately vanquished.

Zane's breakthrough was opposite "Omen 3" star Sam 'Damien' Neill, in nautical based "Dead Calm". Major '666' Briggs (Davis), also briefly featured in "Omen IV". Scully's father, William (X-Files - played by Briggs/Davis) connects to aspects of (666 resonant) biblical Revelation (and antichrist birthing) in X-Files. Briggs reads aloud from biblical Revelation (quoting the beast and the bottomless pit) in FWWM (missing pieces), when Laura visits Bobby for the final time.
Twin Titanic Peaks

The 'earth to space' message (dialogue) between Cooper & Briggs...
which is suggestive of communication between the 'earth plane' and a type of 'etheric plane'.

"I’m not at liberty to reveal the nature of my work."

Major Briggs...Blue Book 'extraterrestrial/ufo' phenomena etc

'Stargater' Don S Davis/Major Briggs. He also played Scully's father in (UFO) X-Files.
X-Files (UFO) Duchovny played Denis/Denise Bryson in (UFO/Blue Book) Twin Peaks.

Episode 2 - Zen, or the Skill to Catch a Killer
"All work and no play make Ben and Jerry dull boys." (Horne Brothers)
"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"  (The Shining)

talking of Horne's...
 "Here's Johnny."

Talking of "here's Johnny"'s Jack"

"All work and no play make Ben and Jerry dull boys."
They own One Eyed Jacks...the whore store, where plenty of 'one eyed Jacks' (penises) get serviced by the ladies.
Even the Horne's horns get serviced.
One-Eyed Jacks. The "cherry pie" is a euphemism for the female virgin (Isis).
Also evoking the missing (gold) phallus of Osiris and/or a reference to Horus' torn out left eye.
We've already tackled Bulwer-Lytton and "dweller on the threshold" - next, is his:
The "pen-is" (flesh sword) and the enchanters "wand". (clever and veiled wordplay).
The magickian's wand IS a visual euphemism for the 'actual' magickian's penis! (sex magick sorcery).
OEJ - obviously also a hat tip to Brando/Kubrick...the same side profile head shot in both pics.
Revenge and Gold - a la Horus/Osiris

OEJ - was originally planned to be directed by Stanley Kubrick from a screenplay by Sam Peckinpah, but studio disputes led to their replacement by Brando and Guy Trosper.

Top 'cock' Gunning, Cruise - will soon be dropping his Egypt resonant "The Mummy" relaunch.

"Respect the cock" - Magnolia/2001. 2001:ASO - Odysseus and the one-eyed cyclops (HAL).
A Homer-erotic 'Go Greek' Odyssey. Cruise, the magic (sex) circle man - Eyes Wide Shut.

Oh and talking of 'one eye'
Nadine/Cyclops...missing left eye (of Horus). The curtain (veil) rail, the cotton buds, and the oil dripping from Ed.
Foreshadowing of the final episode and the 'curtains and the pool of oil' at the gateway/portal of Glastonbury Grove.
Oily holes and red (beef) curtains - also potentially evokes a veiled sexual element.

Don't rule this out, (cow resonant) Hathor/Heather Graham gets pulled into the grove portal.
One-eyed and oiled curtains Nadine, actually turns into a 'nymphomaniac' towards the show's end.

Oil and Curtains @ the Grove.

Twin Pyramids
Twin Peaks regularly references the Native American. Mount Si (the actual mountain from Twin Peaks) is a remnant of an oceanic plate volcano. Mount Si figures prominently in a Prometheus story from the Snoqualmie Indian tribe. According to the story it is the dead body of Snoqualm, the moon. Snoqualm had ordered that a rope of cedar bark be stretched between the earth and the sky. (Sounds very similar to jacob's ladder imo). But Fox and Blue Jay went up the rope and stole the sun from Snoqualm. Snoqualm chased them down the cedar rope, but it broke and he fell to his death. Fox then let the sun free in the sky and gave fire to the people (exactly as prometheus had). A face like Snoqualm's is visible on the rocks near the summit.

We earlier connected the black lodge linked 'Jumping Man' to Native American myth (Heyoka).

Twin Peaks & The Shining
Let's Rock(y) via Philly - he straddles the world of Twin Peaks/The Shining - Tony "Apollo's trainer/Rocky" Burton.
Now come aspects that many may find unpleasant/offensive, but post it I must! Avoid next few paragraphs if easily offended.
The "creed" of Apollo. The sequence in Rocky that took the audience up the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum for the triumphant moment at the top was first filmed during tests for the original Steadicam system (Garrett Brown). The system was used extensively on Stanley Kubrick's 1980 film The Shining, starring Jack Nicholson. Philadelphia - literally means "city of brotherly love" (cough, cough). Some might recall the "homosexual" resonant film Philadelphia, with Hanks/Washington. (Above) An Apollo (phallic ship) bound for a "moon" (ass/mooning, slang) and outside (molestation) room 237. I think this is (potentially) veiled sodomite propaganda! I include (masonic) NASA, and their activities within this same concept too.
The majority of homosexual myths involve Apollo.

Stephen "The Shining" King to Jonathan "Everyone's Gone to the Moon" King.
King actually claims that this track was on a tape and onboard Apollo 11.
BBC Paedophiles
Police found his (King's) 'seduction' kit bag that the kids described, at his home with the porn etc. He used to seduce the boys inside his car and boys told of being blindfolded and the perpetrator would then spit in their mouths, to condition them for oral sex. Before being sodomised they were told they were "going to the moon". Boys who tried to explain what happened to them then said "they were taken to the moon" to the disbelief of investigating police officers, - at the time no one understood Jonathan King's record "Everyones Gone to the Moon" - until this aspect was explained.
The UK B-side to this King track is "Summer's Coming" - image above is a German release.
The Shining - battering toilet/backdoors with a chopper (cock). Simon "X Factor/EMI" Cowell helped pay (paedo) King's bail in 2000. Cowell is another sodomite, he actually worked as a runner on Kubrick's The Shining (soon after leaving school). His main job was apparently "polishing choppers/axes" - a likely (blatant, imo) euphemism and in-joke for "shining cock" (fellatio). Shining Jack's axe/chopper/cock. Cowell was apparently known for his accomplished 'polishing' skills (nudge, nudge).
I suspect that he is also a paedophile, he's very likely been thru some of those boy bands!

King had his first hit record, Everyone’s Gone To The Moon, while still a Cambridge undergraduate in 1965 – the first of his 18 chart singles over the next 14 years. As soon as he graduated, he had his own Saturday night ITV show before being chosen as the right-hand man of Sir Edward Lewis, the head of Decca Records. King discovered and produced Genesis, the Bay City Rollers (see paedo Tam Paton, Walton Hop links etc) and 10cc, and was a key backer of The Rocky Horror Show. In the 1970s and 1980s, he was a regular on BBC TV and radio. At the time of his arrest, he was about to be made head of music giant EMI. Cowell's Jewish father was a record company executive for EMI, Simon would also work there. Cowell's former publicist Max Clifford (who was involved in the King case) is in prison for child abuse offences.

He (Jonathan King) had a secret 'fantasy room', a large rectangular suite in his Bayswater mansion bedecked in lush black leather sofas, large swastika flags hung ceremoniously from ceiling to floor, although Jewish he had commissioned elaborate faked photo blow-ups of himself in SS uniform, shaking hands with Hitler, he also screened 16mm projections of Nazi films which seemed to excite him.
Jewish Kubrick - who married into the Harlan family. A former top 'Nazi propaganda' filmmaking family.
Jan Harlan was Kubrick's "producer". Oh yes, this is ALL turning into very "fourth wall" type stuff!

The majority of homosexual myths involve Apollo. Apollo was seen as the perfect man, and a god of knowledge, among other things. He was the archetypal teacher, and so was the archetypal erastes, involved in many myths as the lover of various young boys, thereby implying the importance of the relationship as educational. Thus, the pedastric aspect of Greek homosexuality (to go Greek) held an important place in their culture/education, and this is reflected strongly in their myths.

Jack chasing Dan with his chopper (slang). Labyrinth/maze - Greek, Minos/Minotaur, built on advice from oracle/Delphi.
Kubrick is no stranger to child sex - his Lolita (film) heavily featured it!
The Shining: "I'm coming, Dan...I'm right behind you." (potentially connected to sodomy, see incest Playgirl magazine, below)

"As queer (gay) as a Clockwork Orange" - Kubrick. Clarke, who wrote his 2001, was gay and had an interest in young boys.
Adrian (Adri-anus) via Apollo! Adrian - it's a goddamn MAN's name. A punch in the "ring" with Rocky and Adrian (via Apollo).
Adrian: 'Pet Shop Girl Boy' - gay slang. The Soviet "Go West" (gay, Village People) - Pet Shop (Rent) Boys.
Rocky fought Soviet Drago (Drag-o). It's actually alleged that Stallone started the Richard "gay" Gere/gerbil "pet shop" rumour.
Rocky picks up his dog 'Butkus' at Adrian's pet shop, named after linebacker Dick But(t)-cus. (Butt Kiss).
I wrote a recent piece: 'Hollywood - The Cinema of Sodomy'. Hollywood is seemingly gay/sodomite central.
Hollywood is definitely brainwashing wider society with 'gender bending' LGBT propaganda - which my post covers.
Homoeroticism: The opening picture (from the link below) is Kubrick's (gay) Spartacus - Olivier and Curtis.
We saw Olivier earlier as Greek Zeus in Clash of the Titans. Rocky's trainer Mickey (Meredith) featured in Clash of the Titans.
Cross-dressing (Some Like It Hot) Curtis - did voice work for Rosemary's Baby, as Baumgart - "hail Adrian" (spawn of satan). Polanski raped/sodomised a teen at Nicholson's Mulholland Drive home! Some may even recall that Twin Peaks' Donna (Flynn Boyle) was connected to Nicholson. The link/post body (below) features Sly Stallone, Kurt "cross-dressing Cash/Back Draft" Russell, Arnold "pumping iron" (iron, slang = homo) Schwarzenegger, Weathers (Apollo), Tom "Top Gay Gun" Cruise etc.
I mentioned the gay aspects of "muscle boys" and "body-building" in my 'Hollywood - Cinema of Sodomy' post.

Spartacus, homosexuality and man/boy sex/abuse. The publication was linked to the UK (paedo) Elm Guest House case.

Sex and children. Spartacus/Lolita Kubrick and Eyes Wide Shut - Illuminati sex slaves and orgies.
It's gay Cruise. The "sex" painting that hangs above Helena's bed, seen by Bill (Cruise) on his return from the orgy.

Twin Peaks and The Shining. Some other similarities.
The Shining: "Incest - Why Parents Sleep With Their Children." Playgirl (for women and homosexuals).
Opening scenes - The Shining. Kubrick's "Spartacus" is linked to homosexuality, historically the Spartans always were. There's an infamous "gay" scene in The Shining, Derwent being fellated by the dog/bear (which is subliminally linked to Danny's abuse). Shining Jack will yell/mumble about getting back to (US gay capital) 'San Francisco' at the film's close.
A play on the song "California, Here I Come". The film opens and closes with a "chopper" (helicopter/axe).

Nicholson (himself) is believed to be a product of incest. He also happens to feature in an "incest revelation" scene in Polanski's Chinatown. Lesbianism and incest are aspects of Mulholland Drive. In MD incest is hinted at via the Beatrice Cenci painting (a victim) that hangs prominently in Betty's apt. Rita Hayworth (MD, Gilda poster) is also rumoured to have been a victim of incest. (see Mulholland Drive post).

Laura's Abuse
Of course Twin Peaks, in the all about the 'systematic abuse cycle' of a young girl (since age of 12, I think?) Laura Palmer, via her father. A cycle that Leland also went through (See Leland's death scene).
The abused becoming the abuser, the inter-generational cycle.

Leland (death scene)
"I was just a boy. I saw him in my dreams. He said he wanted to play. He opened me and I invited him in and he came inside of me. When he was inside, I didn't know and when he was gone I couldn't remember. He made me do things, terrible things. He said he wanted lives, he wanted others. Others that they could use, like they used me."

I sure you'll appreciate the potential sexual abuse allusions being made in the dialogue.
Danny's Abuse
Of course The Shining, in the main (subliminally) is all about the systematic abuse of a young boy (since he started school) Danny Torrance, via his father. A cycle that Jack could also have gone through (although we don't know), and if so, it would be a similar inter-generational cycle, as above.
See The Shining & 2001 Endings post for more on Danny's abuse.

 Danny (about Tony/Jack)
"It's like I go to sleep and he shows me things, but when I wake up, I can't remember everything."
(compare that with Leland's dialogue above!)

Jack (Maze chase)
"I'm coming (climax) Dan...I'm right behind you." (Jack's body position relative to Danny's during the sex act).

Twin Peaks Leland: "He said he wanted to play"
Twins The Shining: "Come and play with us Danny"

A 'cycle of abuse'...the motorcycle (hog) in Laura's 'all seeing eye'.
A 'cycle' until she sacrifices herself at the hands of Leland/Bob.
Danny's cycle of abuse and 'all seeing eye' - a 'forever cycle' until he stops it, by outwitting 'the source' in the maze, Jack/Tony.

Fire Walk With Me & The Shining - Scripted Hospital Endings (filmed , but deleted scenes)

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - NIGHT - A NURSE mops the sweat from Annie's forehead. Annie tries to get thru to her.
My name is Annie. I've been with Laura and Dale. The good Dale is in the lodge and he can't leave. Write it in your diary.
(The nurse pats Annie's forehead and takes her hand.)
(We see  TERESA/LAURA'S RING on Annie's ring finger. The nurse gently slides the ring off Annie's finger.)
IN ANOTHER ROOM The nurse enters. With an anticipatory smile, then a selfish laugh, she puts the ring on her finger.

Removed scene...about 2 weeks after initial release.
 Shelley Duvall:
The manager visits her (Wendy), apologizes for what happened, and invites her to live with him. She doesn't say yes or no. Then he goes into the hallway of the hospital, passes in front of Danny, who is playing on the ground with some toys. When he gets near the exit, he stops and says, 'I almost forgot, I have something for you.' And he pulls from his pocket the yellow ball that the twins had thrown at Danny. It bounces twice (we spent a whole day filming so it would bounce the right way), Danny catches it, looks at it, then lifts his eyes towards the hotel manager, stupefied, realizing that throughout the story he was aware of the mystery of the hotel.
At that point...the film would've gone onto the lobby zoom shot and the pictures on the wall...fade out.

Phew...and for now, we'll leave it at that.
God help you if you've not seen Twin Peaks. (as none of this will make any sense)

Update 2016/2017

Twin Greaks/Greeks
Elysium aka The Elysian Fields lay on the western margin of the Earth, by the encircling stream of Oceanus (Odyssey), and there the mortal relatives of the king of the gods were transported, without tasting death, to enjoy an immortality of bliss (Odyssey book iv: 563). (Evoking Enoch, my emphasis.)
In Greek mythology, Elysium (Greek: Ἠλύσια πεδία) was a section of the Underworld . The Elysian Fields, or the Elysian Plains, were the final resting places of the souls of the heroic and the virtuous. Elysium is an obscure name that evolved from a designation of a place or person struck by lightning, enelysion, enelysios.  This could be a reference to Zeus, the god of lightning/Jupiter, so "lightning-struck" could be saying that the person was blessed (struck) by Zeus (lightning/fortune).
Elysium/Underworld/Under The Lightning Sycamore...Zeus aka Jupiter...where Jupiter and Saturn meet.

Zeus threw his lightning/thunder bolts from Mount Olympus..with 2 (Twin) Peaks
There is even a direct reference in Utah... see pics
However it is the central, almost vertical, rocky peaks, that impress the visitor, over Litochoro, where the relief of the mountain displays on the horizon an apparent V, between two peaks (twin peaks) of almost equal height. In the left limb is Mytikas (or Pantheon - 2,918 metres (9,573 ft), Greece's highest peak, and on the right one Stefani (or Thronos Dios, Throne of Zeus - 2,902 metres, 9,521 ft), that presents the most impressive and steep peak of Olympus. I wonder if the given population size (51,201) is related (in some way) to the height (9,521) of the 'relevant' Stefani/Zeus Olympus peak?

In most modern tarot decks, Temperance stands between Death and The Devil.
Both aspects (above) are very much 'on point' for Twin Peaks and its narrative scope/plot.
The V between the Peaks, Temperance, he or she guides the souls of the dead to judgment.
In some traditions, Temperance does the judging. In those schools, the cups in Temperance’s hands are the functional equivalent of scales, and Temperance. Similar to Maat, Egyptian goddess, who judges the soul’s worth before passing it on to the beasts of the underworld. (black lodge/sycamore)

Laura's Angel...she, who guides her into the (Elysium) afterlife, FWWM ending.
(erm, she is already dead at this point, so clearly it's 'otherworldly'...what else can it be!?)
Donna’s father, Dr. Will Hayward, tells Laura her fate, which is ultimately shown in the final moments of Fire Walk With Me. Hayward tells Laura that her prescription is actually a secret message:
“The angels will return, and when you see the one that’s meant to help you, you will weep with joy.” (Missing Pieces)

Anyway - Elysium, the abode of the blessed after death, is an obscure name that evolved from a designation of a place or person struck by lightning, enelysion, enelysios. Likely a reference to Zeus, the god of lightning/Jupiter.

Donnie 'Jake Gyllenhaal' Darko...connects to Twin Peaks, via his father, who was involved with the series!
He directed eps #27 "The Path to the Black Lodge". Where Briggs gets interrogated to get access to the lodges.
Windom: "Garland, what do you FEAR most in the world?" Briggs: "The possibility that LOVE isn't enough"
In the subsequent and penultimate episode (#28, Miss Twin Peaks) - this is made much clearer.
Fear & Love (opens the doors, Twin Peaks), see "Fear & Love", Donnie Darko (below)
Jake 'Darko' Gyllenhaal also starred in Duncan Jones's (who is Bowie's son) "cyclical rebirth" film Source Code.

The Torus & The Wormhole...Donnie Darko and Twin Peaks
The Darko family drive a Taurus (Torus) car in the film.
Glastonberry Grove (portal)...Arthur's 'round-table' and 12 knights (zodiac).
The 12 sycamores (that stood between worlds, sacred to Isis/Hathor), as the (12 signs).
The lightning struck lodges. Heather/Hathor (Cow) Graham, as the card-based crowned tree queen (Isis, the veil).
A 'literal' wheel of fortune (roulette) was spun in the final episode of season 1, One Eyed Jacks
Where Jupiter & Saturn meet...they straddle the (777) 'tree of life' wormhole/da'ath/abyss
Cooper in the zodiac circle...'Rending The Veil' (Crowley's A.A.) of The Abyss/Da'ath...via the tree(s).

Remember, the sycamore is also known as the 'plane tree' - which evokes the astral/etheric plane(s).
"The Dweller on the threshold" (see Bulwer-Lytton's - Zanoni) of Daa'th.  Beyond Life & D(e)ath.

Lightning Struck' Ziggy (Zaggy) from Mars - David 'Space Oddity' Bowie-man, visited this location via 'the ring'.

We live inside a dream” - Twin Peaks FWWM (film)
- says Agent Jeffries (aka Ziggy-Zaggy, Bowie/lightning-struck crown) to Agents Cole (Lynch), and Cooper (MacLachlan).
Lightning-struck Tesla (Bowie) - The Prestige (2006). Bowie, who had his own 70s Crowley phase.
Twinning, and Doppelgangers appearing in another separate "time/space" were aspects of The Prestige!
It's The Prestige's Nolan -  that works heavily with art/production designer Nathan (related to Aleister) Crowley.
Bowie/Agt Jefferies - transported via the 'electric ether'...Twin Peaks FWWM (Missing Pieces).
Bowie is instantly transported from Palm Deluxe Hotel, Buenos Aires (Argentina) to the FBI offices in Philadelphia (US). During the return transition of this transportation, we're shown the inside of Bob's gaping mouth (which the camera zooms out from) and Bowie magically appears back in Buenos Aires. Note, the Red Room type drapes (left), the room that gives access to the lodge(s) via Jupiter/Saturn conjunction (collage above, bottom centre).

He reappears through a fiery portal and seemingly via Bob, the ether and electricity.
Bowie is directly connected to "the ring" (Twin Peaks) - Watts, played the lead in - The Ring (2002).
Naomi Watts - will be in the 3rd series of Twin Peaks, as are one or two others from the Mulholland cast.
The Lightning Struck 'Crown' Tower...Mulholland Drive
"16 Reasons, why I love you" (Card 16) -- to The Star (I Told Every Little Star) Card 17
The Tower (tarot), shows lightning strikes - believed by some to be attributed to Zeus.
Mulholland Drive's Silencio - is the real 'ACTUAL' Tower Theatre in LA. Diane name relates to 'the moon' card 18.
Selwyn (the name relates to 'castle' - like The Tower card).
IMDB: The new series of Twin Peaks (2017) filmed scenes in the Tower Theatre in Los Angeles, a location that was also utilised by David Lynch in Mulholland Dr. The exact same theatre is also used in The Prestige!

The Prestige - which is all about stage the Tower based "Silencio Magician" in Mulholland Dr.
"No hay banda, it is all an illusion." Lightning and magickian - Pantages. Lightning and magickian - Silencio.
The Magician (Card 1) aka wizard and inside the 'literal' Lightning Struck Tower!
"It is all an illusion/dream" a la Oz, Mulholland has a huge 'Oz' thematic...see other posts.
The 'Gemini' Twins (Card 6) in The Tower (theatre). 16-12 Havenhurst (16 The Tower/12 The Hanged Man).
Rebekah (Hebrew) means tied/knotted. Rebekah Del Rio will sing 'Crying' in the above scene.
Jack 'Eraserhead/Tree of Life' Fisk would be the production designer for Mulholland Drive.

The Tower Crown Lightning & the Tree of Life Crown (kether) are symbolically related.
The crown being struck by both.

The final shot of Lynch's Twin Peaks series is...'the struck Cooper lightning crown/head'
Bashed/struck heads, Cooper/Annie and the mirror/window.

If you watch Windom and Annie in the truck (outside the Grove), you'll notice that 'black lodge' Windom, noticeably bashes Annie's head into the truck's rear window - there is an 'echo' at work between both these aspects.
The Twin Peaks 'film'...Missing Pieces, hammers this 'struck' point home even further (with an extended version of the same TV scene). COOPER (smiling strangely): "I slipped and hit my head on the mirror.
The glass broke as it struck my head. (laughs) It struck me as funny, Harry. Do you understand me, Harry, it struck me as funny."
More "struck crown" foreshadowing via "oil and curtains" Nadine. Same with Ben, Doc Hayward and Bobby.

Foreshadowing the 'struck crown' and 'zig-zag' lightning...bell and Laura's heart
There is even a picture of the 'cracked' Liberty Bell (that strikes) on the pillar behind Cooper.
'Phila-delphi-a'....The Greek Oracle @ Delphi.

Cooper's prior dream...FWWM (Twin Peaks film)
This scene above is introduced using the instrumental sounds of the "Dance of the Dream Man" (track)

Delphi - Greek Oracle  (Twin Peaks uses elements of both Delphi & Dodona).
An oracle was a person/agency considered to provide wise counsel or prophetic predictions or precognition of the future, inspired by the gods. As such it is a form of divination. The important oracles of Greece were Pythia, Delphi, and the oracle of Dione and Zeus at Dodona. In Greece the old oracles were devoted to the Mother Goddess. Dione is translated as "Goddess", and given the same etymological derivation as the names (lightning bolt) Zeus, Diana, et al.
Diana, her major pilgrimage centres were Ephesus and Nemi, the Sacred Grove (Glastonberry, my emphasis).
She was Dione, Diana Nemorensis, or Nemetona, Goddess of the Moon-grove.

Delphi, Oracle, Dreams, Future Pre-cognition and The Ear.

Phila-DELPHI-a...the oracle and dreams.  The whole scene makes references to dreams, Cooper's initial dialogue telling Cole about the dream he had mentioned. This infers that Cooper had dreamed that this 'event' would happen (previous details he must've mentioned to Cole), that Bowie would show up (note how Cole, says "I know"), hence why Cooper looks for him via the CCTV etc, and it unfolds. Not forgetting Bowie's dialogue "A dream, we live inside a dream!". That's the basic set-up, although it is much more detailed a 'scene', overall (with the convenience store people and Bowie's inter-dimensional travel), but it takes a long time to explain. 'Phila', from Philae, Egypt, site of a venerated Ancient Egyptian Temple.

"...the earth-deity might acquire an oracular function (oracle), especially through the process of incubation, in which the consultant slept in a holy shrine with his ear upon the ground."
Not Jeffries, but Jeffrey (MacLachlan, Agent 'Dream' Cooper) in Lynch's Blue Velvet - 'ear upon the ground'. Jeffrey, (etymology) can mean district, traveler or peaceful. This was about 3 years before Twin it's the incubation period.  He is the oracular function aka 'dream oracle' (via Delphi) of Twin Peaks, he has several pre-cognitive dreams/episodes in the show. Blue Velvet also famously features 'In Dreams' by Orbison and has similar Peaks-like settings and motifs.
The finding of the 'ear' in Blue Velvet & the dream (that starts with the ear) in Twin Peaks ("break the code/dream, solve the crime"), are both instrumental in unraveling the larger mystery. Kyle (Jeffrey/Cooper) seems to be Lynch's main 'dream oracle' he has similar experiences in Dune.

"In dreams I walk with you. In dreams I talk to you."
Twin Peaks - Pilot/Episode 2 (Cooper's dream, it features the exact same ear!)
Twin Peaks pilot filming: Suddenly, Lynch exclaims, "I know what we need"! Lynch then proceeds to carefully pull from his pocket, the prop severed ear from Blue Velvet. The ear was apparently in his pocket the entire time. With no explanation as to it's meaning or significance, Lynch very carefully partially submerges the ear into the center of the pile of dirt (ear, ear-th and earth-deity geddit, my emphasis) and the closeup is filmed. (I think we know the meaning and significance now, my emphasis).

We see the ear in the dirt/earth (at start) in Cooper's dream. It will be 'the ear' (of Cooper) that gets whispered into (by Laura) giving him the name of the killer. Start/Finish is book-ended with an ear.

Season 2 Episode 9 (Arbitrary Law) - Laura's Diary
Sharing a dream is NOT impossible in the Twin Peaks universe. It was the same dream. ("We live inside a dream").
However, their shared dream occurred at different times! Laura is still alive when she has her dream (hence, writing about it),
but dead when Cooper has his! More indications of non-linear time/space in the Black Lodge.
The second entry (23rd) clearly indicates Laura's wish to die, she actually WANTS to die, to be free from Bob.

Missing Pieces - Convenience Store and Bowie. (see video clip, again).

Convenience Store scene - the exact time (10:10) and date are very specific for this sequence. He clearly refers to the fact that Gordon is previously aware of the details of Cooper's prior dream. Cooper dreamed this would happen (Bowie turning up at the FBI office, hence Cooper looking for him via the CCTV) and then the dream plays out in real 'film' life, and at the exact time that he was given in his dream. This scene occurs exactly one year after Teresa Banks was killed.

The Fates, The Spinning Wheel (of Fortune) and another link to 'wheel-based' Hermes. EWS: Red Cloak, wheel and FATE.
"There is no turning back" - she who cannot be turned. (see 3 fates and 'cutter of the thread of life' atropos)
The 2001 Odyssey (with cyclops Hal) and via the 'rota/taro' spinning wheel of fate.
The 2001 monolith is 'possibly' another rendering of the emerald 'one stone' tablet - monolith (one stone).
Disney's Spinning Wheel(s)...
Thanks to Alan Abbadessa-Green (via John Fell Ryan).  I don't tend to watch these Disney things!

As one of the 'three fates' her (Clotho) contribution to mythology was immense.
Clotho, along with her sisters, and Hermes (hermanubis, on the wheel), was given credit for creating the alphabet for their people. (see Bob's letters/alphabet, below).
Although Clotho and her sisters were real goddesses, their representation of fate is more focused upon in Greek mythology.
Thread represented human life and her decisions represented the fate of all men in society.

Black Lodge Bob - as a composite "Clotho"
A cloth (clotho) "death bag"
Leland and Windom were both possessed by Bob - they ALL referenced the (cloth) death bag.
Windom has spiders in the bag - creatures that spin webs using silk threads.

The 3 Fates...spinning via the wheel

Clotho (/ˈkloʊθoʊ/; Greek: Κλωθώ), whose name literally means 'spinner' is the youngest of the Three Fates or Moirai – including her sisters Lachesis and Atropos, in ancient Greek mythology. Lakhesis, whose name means "Apportioner of Lots"--being derived from a word meaning to receive by lot (lottery)--, measured the thread of life. Atropos (or Aisa), whose name means "She who cannot be turned," (turning) cut the thread of life. Clotho was responsible for spinning the thread of human life. She also made major decisions, such as when a person was born, thus in effect controlling people's lives. This power enabled her not only to choose who was born, but also to decide when gods or mortals were to be saved or put to death.
For example, when Pelops was killed and boiled by his father, it was Clotho who brought him back to life.

Ariadne labyrinth/maze, The Shining (vision/dream based) labyrinth/maze & 'dream based' Inception labyrinth/maze via character Ariadne (who else!). Circular maze/wheel, also evokes the brain.
Ariadne, the Greek goddess of fertility, is similar to Clotho in that she carries a ball of thread, much like Clotho’s spindle.  This is a potential link to Kubrick's The Shining and 'the maze' (minotaur) and the trail of breadcrumbs (thread), as referenced by Wendy. “This place is such an enormous maze, I feel like I’ll have to leave a trail of bread crumbs every time I come in”.
The Shining, the fate of 3 characters, who live in apartment 3 and connected to dreams/visions (like Inception).

The Moirai (aka Three Fates) were independent, at the helm of necessity, directed fate, and watched that the fate assigned to every being by eternal laws might take its course without obstruction; and Zeus, as well as the other gods and man, had to submit to them.

 Fate(s)/Moirai/Erinyes (Furies) and Zeus...Mulholland Drive
The Tower, shows lightning strikes attributed to Zeus
The Light Struck Tower...Zeus
The 3 Fates, they assigned to the Erinyes - who inflicted the punishment for evil deeds, their proper functions; and with them they 'directed fate' according to the laws of necessity.
Irene (Bates) played Mrs X, Eraser-head...the black lodge "zig-zag bolt" floor pattern, 1977.

Zeus - as well as the other gods and man, had to submit to them. (3 Fates, Moirai, leading to Erinyes.)
 Erinyes (Moirai/Fates)...Mulholland drive, ending
In Greek mythology the Erinyes  "pursue, persecute"--sometimes referred to as "infernal goddesses" (Greek χθόνιαι θεαί)-- were female chthonic deities of vengeance. A formulaic oath in the Iliad invokes them as "those who beneath the earth punish whosoever has sworn a false oath". Burkert suggests they are "an embodiment of the act of self-cursing contained in the oath".
The same concept, may well have been used at the climax of the Twin Peaks film.
Fire Walk With Me - Leland (Bob), chasing down Laura & Ronette and in a similar manner.

The Erinyes are crones and, depending upon authors, described as having snakes for hair, dog's heads, coal black bodies, bat's wings, and blood-shot eyes. In their hands they carry brass-studded scourges, and their victims die in torment.
Hap's Diner, Deer Meadow - it was like an inverted/negative version of Twin Peaks' R&R Diner.
Leland (Bob) will enter the "underworld" (under the sycamores) immediately after Laura's murder.

Chthonic ( "in, under, or beneath the earth" pertaining to the Earth; earthy; subterranean) designates, or pertains to, deities or spirits of the underworld, especially in relation to Greek religion. The Greek word khthon is one of several for "earth"; it typically refers to the interior of the soil, rather than the living surface of the land (as Gaia or Ge does) or the land as territory (as khora (χώρα) does). It evokes at once abundance and the grave.

Diane haunted by 'demons' of the past, present and future (the key to Pandora's box)

We hear maniacal laughing (from the male) and we hear a young girl screaming, all at the same time...combined with the hammering at the door...this pushes her over the edge. The heavy knocking that comes from the a sound that we're now very familiar with and throughout.

 Diane's death/suicide...the grave
We close in on the bag and see the 'old jitterbug couple' (in miniature) escape from the box/bag.
Notice the 'can' ring-pull and brown paper bag containing the box. Something has been 'opened' (ring-pull). There is a small piece of meat there too.

Diane and the 'infernal goddesses' Erinyes (Irene) assigned by the 3 fates of the spinning wheel
We're not told the name of the old man, perhaps to emphasize the 'irene/erinyes' aspect
Infernal Goddesses...'infernal', of or relating to 'hell'.
 To the 'grave' (ending)

Aeschylus, Eumenides 334 ff (trans. Weir Smyth) (Greek tragedy C5th B.C.) :
"This revenge (Diane's suicide) upon the murderer (Diane, the murderer of Camilla) is our (the Erinyes/Irene) right, spun for us by the Moirai (Fates), the ones who bind the world."

Suicide is described as a breech of fate by at least one Roman writer.
Statius, Thebaid 10. 810 ff (trans. Mozley) (Roman epic C1st A.D.) :
"Of thy own will and pleasure slain [of one who committed suicide], ay, even against the will of Fata [Moira, Fate], thou hast forcest an entrance to the gloomy Manes (Shades)."

Infernal 'Erinyes' Goddesses...'infernal', of or relating to 'hell'.

The road to hell...the journey to Club 'revelation' Silencio
Compare the ending of Mulholland Drive (vagrant/box) with Barker's Hellraiser. (vagrant/box)
The Winkies (Oz) vagrant...begins the process (via the bag) that leads to Diane's death.

Literally, raising Hell.

Black "Hades/Hell" Lodge
The lightning bolt...Zeus/Jupiter. Saturn (left) - "Where Jupiter and Saturn meet."
Parents: Rhea and Cronos (aka Saturn). Erase-RHEA-d (mother of Zeus) and the lightning struck crown.

Henry raises a 'baby' (yet destroys it) this is yet another aspect associated with Saturn (cronos) and Ops (Rhea), that relates to Jupiter aka (lightning) Zeus.
The struck 'Erase-rhea-d' crown...(above) follows after 'another baby' usurps Henry.

Jupiter (Zeus) was the son of Saturn (Cronos). Saturn, the previous king of the gods, began to swallow the children that he had with his wife, Ops (Greek equivalent - Rhea), when they were born. This was because he had been warned that one of his children would overthrow him.
Saturn swallowed the children Neptune, Pluto, Ceres, Juno and Vesta. When Ops (Rhea) realised that she was pregnant again, she had the baby secretly moved to Crete, giving a stone wrapped in swaddling-clothes (see baby, left) to Saturn for him to eat. Saturn believed he had eaten Jupiter (Zeus), therefore Jupiter (Zeus) was saved. Henry is clearly an avatar for Saturn, hence his 'baby mashing' activities...but the 'other baby' (Zeus) that followed, ultimately usurps him!  Mary X (the mother) is the Rhea character, she moves away and he's left with the baby.
The opening titles heavy relate to celestial phenomena, Jack 'Tree of Life/Mulholland Dr' Fisk, as 'God-like' composite, pulling 'sparking levers' that seem to influence Henry. We see (superimposed) a planet pass over Henry's face/head and strange sperm-like creatures (a visual metaphor for babies) pass over his mouth, which opens/closes, effectively providing the 'swallowing' resonance...babies, swallowing and planets, geddit?
Henry (Jack Nance, Eraserhead) would play Pete Martell in Twin Peaks - he discovers Laura's body.
The beginning and the end...
Zeus - as well as the other gods and man, had to submit to them (3 Fates, Moirai).
Moirai (origin of Moira, name) relate to the '3 fates'...Twin 'Lightning' Peaks was about the fate of Laura (Palm-er, palm/kaph, the wheel & the world cards, sycamore wheel)...
...her closest friend was Donna, who was played by Moira Kelly in the Twin Peaks film!
The Moira-i watched that the fate assigned to every being by eternal laws, might take its course without obstruction.
Donna (Moira) will (generally) oversee Laura, and her last 7 days.

3 Fates (Moirai) of The Wheel, who measured, spun and cut, the thread of life:
Lakhesis, whose name means "Apportioner of Lots" measured the thread of life. Atropos (or Aisa), whose name means "She who cannot be turned," (turning) cut the thread of life. Clotho was responsible for spinning the thread of human life.

Thread represented human life and her (Clotho) decisions represented the fate of all men in society.

Atropos 'cut' the thread of life...Atropos, root of atrophy, to wither/decay etc
"The 'thread' will be 'torn' (cut) Mr Palmer, the thread will be torn."
The one-armed man, is (precognitively) telling Leland/Bob (and Laura) that she will be killed (her thread will be torn).

This is why he (precognitively) mentions her literal 'death mask'.
"The stillness of her face", as her visage is revealed at the river's edge (see pilot), this occurring in the future.
This is also where Bob/Leland is accused of stealing the corn (garmonbozia), likely relating to Teresa Banks.
One-armed man also mentions the "formica table", the same table where we saw the garmonbozia pans.

The dispute between Bob (Leland is his current host) and Mike...his demand for Laura's psychic pain.
Leland/Bob is ultimately trying to possess Laura, this is his aim, he wants to taste through her mouth etc. This was never the arrangement though, Bob is acting outside his remit. The one-armed Man (aka Mike) wants Laura's accumulated pain and suffering (represented by the garmonbozia/creamed corn), which he receives upon her death (as per their original contract). Bob, however, has been "stealing" this garmonbozia (corn) from his superior (Mike), that is why there is a dispute between them. Bob, stealing Mike's garmonbozia from "above/over the store" - where it is kept (a convenient place to store, literally). Bob, very likely stole the garmonbozia that related to Teresa Banks (after killing her, she was found without the ring). In the shot below, Mike makes his demand and he receives what was deemed his.
The 'garmonbozia' is consumed by the Lodge dwelling Mike (one-armed man and dwarf combined = the full Mike), a form of consumable 'pain and suffering' that they exist on, likely evoking Ambrosia (food of the Gods).

Laura's accumulated "pain and suffering" - it is initially shown as "blood".
It will be consumed as creamed corn (garmonbozia).

Laura - she's a literal garmonbozia "meal on wheels" - at least for the black lodge. It's even on her MOW menu.
MOW scene film - "The man in the mask (Bob possessed Leland) is looking for the book with the pages torn out."

Laura's diary gets some pages torn out. The torn pages and bloody towel are found outside of sycamore circle
- where Leland/Bob gets absorbed into the underworld.
This might happen to prevent foreknowledge of the etheric contact between Cooper, Laura and black lodge.
This (future telling) info was given to Laura (by Annie), where she was requested to write the reference in her diary.
However, earlier in the film we see Laura give her diary to Harold Smith, so she can't write this reference into it.

Twin Greaks...
The 'Mount Olympus' comparison...'lightning and twin peaks'

Garmonbozia vs Ambrosia
Food of the Twin 'Mt' Peaks, black lodge and Food of the Greek 'Twin Peaked Mt' God, Zeus
Garmonbozia...creamed (small cube-like, nectar/yellow) corn

Calypso (music/dance, dancing man). The Ambrosia (Garmonbozia) Table, Green/Hermes Table(t)
Rosy-red (a la the Rosi-crucians, rose cross, Bulwer-Lytton, again etc) & Hermes! all fits, Greek mythology, again!  Garmon-ambrosia...and lightning-bolt 'ambrosia scoffing' Zeus.
Hermes,  the 'as above, so below' green table(t) and Garmonbozia..."For-mica" (mica, rock: "let's rock").
'Spread a (green) table with ambrosia' (garmonbozia) 'set it by Hermes'.
The Log Lady makes an 'As above, so below' (from Hermes/tablet) speech in the 2nd series.
[19] Odyssey xii.62: "the trembling doves that carry ambrosia to Father Zeus."
The 'doves' (white angel wings) and 'the table' (the formica table) and via Mount 'Twin Peaks' (Olympus).
This is one of Lynch's most positive and upbeat endings, in any of his work!
This is Laura's 'afterlife' (Elysium) redemption...her angel returned to save her.
The ending musical (Requiem) piece that accompanies Laura's angel was performed by The 'Ambrosian' Singers. Cherubini's (Cherub) Requiem, part of a 7 movement death mass, for Laura and her last 7 days, we hear movement #7, 'Agnus Dei'. (Lamb of God, Lightning Struck Christ, the angels attending to Christ after the passion, death and resurrection). The Shining's 'Dies Irae' is part 3 of this mass. Remember, Kubrick used Lynch's Eraserhead, to 'set the mood' for his Shining film.

Cherubini's work is included in two short sequences, the first during the actual murder of Laura at the hands of her demon-possessed incestuous father, and the second as the end credits roll.

Calypso dancing...
MFAP (dwarf) is a composite 'ambrosia, table laying' Calypso (which is connected to red, rosy red and ambrosia), and a music/dance (dancing man). Yes, Calypso was female, but her 'aspects' directly apply to MFAP (dwarf) and his activity, other Calypso aspects, seem to connect to Laura. In Greek myth this was the name (Calypso) of the nymph who fell in love with Odysseus after he was shipwrecked on her island of Ogygia.
When he refused to stay with her she detained him for seven years until Zeus ordered her to release him.
(Cooper trapped in lodge and recall the dialogue, "the good Dale is in the lodge, and he can't leave.")
Kalypso (Greek) which probably meant "she that conceals",  (kalypto) "to cover, to conceal".
Note the 'concealing/covering' Venus statue, below.
Sexually active (nymph) Laura, she that conceals (she's filled with secrets/sexual secret-ions, to secret: to conceal).
Calypso is also one of Saturn's small moons...note Saturn statue and fly-by via MFAP/dwarf.

Perhaps, we should now view Cooper (in one aspect), as also being a composite type of Odysseus!

Dance of the Dream 'Zig-Zag' Man/Men
The only time that the lodge floor is shown as carpet (Cooper's dream) - which connects to Leland's material jacket. Leland's "dancing for Laura" (with Sarah present) and his smashing of her picture (with blood all over it), combined with the 'music in the air' gramophone - IS the set-up for the dream itself! It contains all the seeds. Pre-dosed with the elements of the dream that would immediately follow. Dancing 'zig-zag' Leland, with Laura, and dancing 'zig-zag' red dwarf dream man, with Laura. "Let's Rock". Leland even "snap-clicks" his finger/thumb a few times before the song comes in on the gramophone. Finger clicking IS the essence of "Dance of the Dream Man" track which accompanies Coop's dream. Coop who wakes from the dream clicking his fingers etc.

More echoes - "sofa surfing" with Black Lodge Bob and Black Lodge Laura.
With Laura - It's actually (Bob possessed) Black Lodge Windom, using Laura's doppelganger.

The Grove 'portal' acts as a multiple reference to 'the wheel' (zodiac), the tree of life/death, and the 'underworld' concept (hades/hell - under the sycamore). Twin Peaks 'river' likely acts (in one aspect) as the river Styx.
The river that formed the boundary between 'earth' and the 'underworld'.
The bodies (of Laura, Teresa Banks) are both deposited in the river.
FWWM (opening) - Teresa Banks' body floats through Hells Canyondrifting along in Wind River.
The new Twin Peaks (season 3) will supposedly air in May 2017.

Portal to the 'Lightning Black Lodge'. Who dwelt under the sycamores in Twin Peaks?

Michael J Anderson...MFAP - Let's Rock/Mr Roq-ue.
A little man who MOVES, to the music of the spheres (via the palms/kaph & palm-er), epileptic and spasmodic, to the rhythm of your fears.  Py/Pi...thagoras, music of the spheres, circles, planets. Cherry Pi/Py/Pie. Jupiter/Saturn meet, Saturn (shadow) will fly past when he rubs his palms.
He gets more 'circular and hand/kaph' resonance from the 'Ring' (circles, rings, Saturn etc)
Anderson as 'black lodge' MFAP (red dwarf/gnome), and in 'Mulholland Drive' as Mr Roque (Roquat the Red).
Mulholland Drive's "Winkie's/Winkies" - also being heavily tied to the Oz mythos.
Where's the Mulholland wheel? Mr "wheelchair" Roque, not under the sycamore, but under Ryan Entertainment.

He is key in tracking and following Diane and her story, almost like he is directing things from the beyond.
There he is in Carnivale (series) next to 'the ferris wheel' as (Carnivale co-owner) Samson Leonhardt, his right-hand man Jonesy, operates the Ferris Wheel - it is clearly one of the shows iconic images.

Carnivale...and The Tarot (title sequence).  Note, click link to view via youtube.

It initially centres on 'The World' (card 21), which is symbolically very similar to the wheel card, both refer to 'cycles' and each has the 4 fixed signs in the corners of the card.

'Thoth Tarot' Crowley...may well be referenced in the series.  The title sequence (through the cards) @ 11-12 seconds, shows a sign marked with the word Crowley.  There is a Justin Crowe in the series (the antagonist) who has set-up a church and who seemingly has abilities via his 'will' (love under will, Crowley). Justin Crowe is from a 'Methodist' background, as Crowley, himself was. Justin Crowe also heavily connects to a Wilfred Talbot Smith...a likely reference to Wilfred Talbot Smith, a former high ranking member of Crowley's OTO.  OTO Smith was actually married to Helen Parsons, she joined him after John 'OTO' Whiteside Parsons left her.

The Sphinx & The Wheel...

Note, in the below clip...we clearly see the 'sphinx' that accompanies the wheel. Soon to be vanquished Crowe, is first 'deliberately' shown at the summit of the wheel, where the 'sphinx' rests, also this likely acts as a foreshadowing of his coming downfall, as he descends to the bottom. Also note that hands (palms) and clapping (from Ben), that exerts influence, while Crowe experiences difficulties on the wheel. Kaph and the wheel of fortune...the hand/palm.

The climax, via The Sphinx, The Wheel, The 'Chest' Tree, Saturn (sickle), Sacrifice...Carnivale

Some of you were probably expecting this, but note also Subliminal Synchro Sphere's regular feature...The Lightning Struck Tree! Crowley/Crowe has even got a rendering of 'a tree' on his chest. You'll have to click the watch via youtube!

So, little Micky J Anderson, featured in 2 TV series (Carnivale/Twin Peaks), that both reference 'the tarot', particularly 'the wheel' and both series each ended with 'wheel' and 'lightning struck tree' scenes!  Admittedly, this is shown more directly in Carnivale, and in a more subliminal (Lynchian) way, in Twin Peaks.

Thing is...Carnivale's Justin 'Clancy Brown' Crowley/Crowe, was in The Shawshank Redemption and we all know where that leads, don't we?

The lightning-struck tree...
The 3(0)3 Shawshank 'Tree' was stuck by 'lightning' in 2011.

Clancy also featured in Lost...which featured the stricken 777 (lightning tree pathway)
Clancy 'The Wheel' Brown...even the Dharma logo is an 8-sided wheel-like symbol.

Not forgetting the 'frozen wheel' from earlier
 Dharma-cakra or Dharma-chakra? (spine)

Wheels (not unlike circles) represent cosmic forces, power, creation and destruction, fate, time, eternity. And obviously, the most important item in this episode (Lost, There's No Place Like Home 2) is the frozen donkey wheel. The frozen donkey wheel, not surprisingly, bears a certain resemblance to the dharmacakra, also known as the Wheel of Dharma (33, the spine) or the Wheel of Law. It’s an ancient Buddhist symbol and it represents the 8-fold path to enlightenment.

Lost, 8-fold path via a wheel of (karmic law), just like the 'karmic' law (rising up and down, ascending/descending via fate) of the 8-spoked wheel of fortune!  Recall, the island is also Jacob's 'spinal' (ladder to heaven) Island (see previous posts)  and 'Dharma' relates to the spine and ascension/enlightenment.
Jacob, aka Mark 'Mulholland Drive' Pellegrino.

We saw Clancy's 'lightning tree' climax in Carnivale...and the Shawshank connection:

Clancy, also 'memorably' featured in Highlander as Kurgan, the lightning struck tower man!
Probably his greatest performance. Highlander 'memorably' featured music from Queen.

Deactivate the lightning shield...Queen & (Lightning) Flash

Flash...aaaahhhhaaa!!!  Ends with the Flash 'struck crown' (see Bowie/Cooper) :-)

Twin Peaks - "wheel" to the ziggy-zaggy lightning lodges...

"Wheel of Fortune" via a David (black star) Bowie man - news item a few weeks after Bowie's actual death. (link)

Bowie, is regularly referenced in the film "24 Hour Party People" - mainly via Ian "Hanged Man" Curtis.
WB Yeats - another of Bulwer Lytton's proteges (with Crowley etc) for the Isis/Urania Temple.

"24 Hour Party People" - The Wheel of Fortune.

With Alan "AHA!" Partridge (Coogan), and Chris "Dr Who" Ecclestone.
Bowie had his own Crowley phase, it was Crowley who wrote the mystical poem "AHA!"

"Let's the song(s) they're playin' on the radio." (Pear Tree, Radio DJ)

Alan "ABBA - Knowing Me, Knowing You" Partridge. ABBA -"the father" - Chokmah on tree the of life.
Partridge used "The Lightning Tree" (track, The Settlers) at the close of Welcome to the Places of My Life.

"Flash...AHA! He saved everyone of us."
The "777" (tree of life) lightning flash and struck crown...Crowley wrote "777".
Sirius=seirios (Greek)"burning" "Under the moonlight, the serious (sirius) moonlight"
“Serious moonlight” - according to Nile (a river in Egypt, lol) Rodgers, was Bowie referencing Rodgers’ habit of calling a particularly good groove or track “serious.” Bowie once called the phrase as his attempt at an “Americanism.” Nicholas Pegg offered the mad and quite possibly accurate theory that Bowie was referencing an Aleister Crowley poem - Lyric of Love to Leah,

Let's Dance via the moon, sirius (seirios) and Oz.
...whose lines include “let us dance beneath the palm/moving in the moonlight” and later
come my love, let us dance/to the moon and Sirius!” I.e., the Sirius Moonlight. Aleister "moonchild" Crowley. The Loft on Sirius/XM had a David Bowie Channel recently, and in memory of him.

"Let's dance [via Oz] beneath the PALM" - in a summer suit and via the serious/sirius moonlight. (Palm-er)
"Every man and every woman is a star"
Liber Oz, Book 77 (666 in the logo), Below, the black lodge '666' message from space (Garland 'Oz' Briggs)

Mr "666" Crowley and "AHA!"

Listen to the opening sounds of Let's Dance - "Ahhhh, haaaa, haaa, haaa!" (Aha!)

Bowie in Oz. "Put on your red shoes..." - Let's Dance via The Nile (producer Rodgers) and in Oz/Aus.
The canicular 'hate and heat' aspect (a la dog days) perhaps accounted for, 'seirios = burning'
The Let's Dance single 'b side' was Cat People (Putting Out Fire).
Let's Dance? 'Let's Rock' too! With Twin Peaks and via the ring and black lodge

The 'Let's rock' - dancing dwarf man. Well, Bowie (Jeffries) did meet-up with him in the film.
Put on your 'red shoes' and mention 'Judy' (Garland, Oz). Garland 'Oz' Briggs also in Twin Peaks.
Corridor creeping with Labyrinth Bowie. TV series climax black lodge pre-cognition (via the film).
Bowie: "A dream, we live inside a dream" (a la dream journeying Dorothy, Oz)
Dorothy (Valens) and the red shoes - Blue Velvet
(Dorothy's) Red Shoes in Oz (Australia). (Jeffries) Red Shoes & Judy (Oz) TP
Toto is (Canis/Sirius) connecting to the Sirius Rainbow Bridge (Over The Rainbow) see Alice Bailey.
Lynch...Wild At (Oz) Heart and the red shoes/over the rainbow. Laura Dern, who will be in the 3rd series.
Red Shoes Bowie...The (Sirius) Starman and Over The Rainbow
The Judy twins. Black Lodge linked Bowie and Briggs - stargating/portal star-men and over the rainbow via Oz.
Briggs went thru the black lodge, Jeffries is also connected to it. "Can you hear me, Major Briggs (Tom)"
Notice how the barren/dilapidated room in the Blackstar (video)
...also evokes the barren/dilapidated room (above convenience store, Twin Peaks FWWM).
Black (Lodge) Star - travelling via the ether and electricity.
TP's Convenience Store "jumping man" is black (afro-american) - there's a black man in the Black Star room (above).

The Black (Sirius) Dog (Star?) Runs At Night...from Bowie's Fire Walk With Me

Judy, also relates to the masked monkey (moon-key) - it's the last shot of FWWM.
Bowie's real name Davy Jones, which was also the name of one of The 'Day Dream Believer' Monkees.
Sirius (the scorcher) is the star of the masonic brotherhood - the star that hangs in all lodges.
Bowie - the (sirius moonlight) diamond dog (star). Sirius, the diamond dog star in the sky.

A black lodge tear/rip in the fabric of space/time
Black Star - a dent/tear in space/time. A black hole is also a literal black star.
Under The Sycamore Tree (of Life). Kether to Malkuth - the '777' zig-zag, lightning tree of life pathway.

Kether to Malkuth - The lightning path passes thru 'da'ath/sirius' and the veil (Isis) - the dweller on the threshold.
Bowie also worked with Lynch in "Lost Highway" (Pathway) - he bookends the soundtrack.
Bulwer "dweller on the threshold" Lytton's proteges - Crowley et al - allegedly formed the Isis/Urania Hermetic group.
Crowley and Isis - Hathor/Isis, the sycamore tree queen. Sirius is also the star of Isis.
Lightning-struck crowns
“We were born upside down, born the wrong the way round...” (Bowie - Lazarus, Black Star)

First Method. Let the Exempt Adept first train himself to think backwards by external means, as set forth here following.

("d") Let him practise speaking backwards; thus for "I am He" let him say, "Eh ma I".
Crowley - Magick.

Update (new series)
Episode 3

777 and via the "lightning" lodges. Crowley wrote liber/book "777" (in 1909).
Switched Duggie and Cooper (eps3). Duggie-Pas - Dugpas.
Duggie seems to be the (temporary) conduit for Good Cooper to return to the world.
Zig-Zag Lightning and 777
Episode 3 was heavy on "Eraserhead" symbology...where Lynch first used the lightning flash motif.
Major Briggs' head floating in space (quoting "blue rose") was also homage to Eraserhead (1977).
Heads floating in space...Twin Peaks & Eraserhead. It was Briggs that referenced messages from space.

Twin Peaks/Eraserhead overlaps - new series opening - where MFAP (dwarf) has evolved into a "tree".
Very similar to the Eraserhead "tree" that is shown on the draped stage (at the climax) in that 1977 film.
Cooper with the one-armed man (Gerard) in the lodge.
Plenty of "portal" activity in the new Peaks series - and where etheric travel via electricity is a huge aspect.
Plug sockets, car cigarette lighter sockets etc.

Cooper and a strange woman emerge from a metallic type of unit suspended in space, a lever is pulled.
Evoking the lever pulling "God" from Eraserhead. This lever pulling will be evoked again via the casino and "one-armed bandits" (fruit machines). Geddit, a one-armed "777" bandit (like one-armed man).
Twin Peaks meets the Man in the Planet (Eraserhead)
Jack Fisk played the "man in the planet" (Eraserhead). The 'sparking/electric' linked entity that pulls levers!
Levers, 777 and one-armed bandits/men.

Hit the "777" Jackpot.
The first "fruit machine" that (series 3) Cooper uses is "Fives and Spark-lers".

Eraserhead. Rhea, sister/consort of Cronus/Saturn, and mother of 'lightning-bolt' Zeus (Jupiter).
It's also Saturn's second largest moon. Rhea's tree is the "fir" - "smell those Douglas Firs".

Inside the car of Bob possessed Cooper. Cronos/Cronus/Saturn (time/chronology) and the green ring (via electric lighter).
Cronus (Saturn) the Titan of the harvest (the reaper, garmonbozia). Father of Zeus (Jupiter)
Saturn (and it's rings) and the green ring. The Good Cooper has been released back into the world.
Good Cooper could only leave lodge captivity if the evil Cooper was returned/banished to the lodge.
Rancho Rosa (Rose Ranch) - Sycamore St., a Little Rock (little dwarf, "let's rock") and Black Lodge.
There is even a "beware of the (black) dog" notice on the house in the background (above left).
Black female hooker "Jade", which is also a type of rock and related to the colo(u)r black. Black jade rock is also related to 'protection' of the etheric body from negative or destructive forces. During Cooper's drive with Jade he drops the room key and avoids being shot by a negative force - the sniper.
It's the 'one-armed man' (Mike/Gerard) who seems to be directing these goings-on. Recalling 'car crashing' (Bob possessed) Cooper - lodge drapes precede his recall - and releasing the Good Cooper back into reality.
Three Coopers (Cooper/Cooper/Cooper, see message from space) - switching that involves temporary conduit Dougie/Duggie (Dug-pa) - who seems to be replaced with Good Cooper, and who concurrently absorbs Bob possessed Cooper (or an etheric aspect of him) back to Black Lodge, and where one-armed man (Mike/Gerard).

The episode ends with a telephone call to the Philadelphia FBI Office. Prior to the call we have a scene that references the strange portal in the New York building - a portal that is/was being heavily surveilled. On the telephone, Cole (Lynch) seemingly talks to Cooper, who is on the other end. Cole and Albert arrange to meet with him the following day in Black Hills, South Dakota. I think this is also the same location/area where (Bob possessed) Cooper crashes his car.

Please note - as of 'Sunday 20th August 2017' - I have ONLY SEEN up to episode 6 of Twin Peaks, Season 3. I still have much catching-up to do!

How's Annie? Are You OK, Annie? A Smooth "FBI" Criminal (mash-up)

  1. Such a wonderful collection of some of my favorite hits from earlier material. Now I'm looking forward to catching the new episodes just to see what subliminal stunts will revive the hidden themes you've laid out. You've done a fine job of obtaining a vantage point of the esoteric science game, it will likely be hard to miss any subsequent mystery school maneuvers. It's a lot easier appreciating the significance of the sycamore any time I hear the tree mentioned in a song, by the likes of a Joni Mitchell or a Tom Waits, and it makes me curious about a possible association between the ficus sycomorus and the leaves Adam and Eve used to cover up their naughty bits.
I've also gotten to think on suicide found with David Lynch productions, not only with lonely souls Harold Smith and Merrick the Elephant Man, but even Richard Farnsworth, who shot himself IRL making Straight Story his final performance. Go ahead and call me morbid, but I'd be interested to know if he had put the gun in his mouth like Diane/Betty does in Mulholland Dr.

    1. Thank you kindly, Bingers. After losing my larger Twin Peaks post last year, I thought I'd throw this together. You're as reliable as ever when it comes to offering up comments, I'd be lost without you. Looks like yours is going to be the ONLY response - disappointing but what can you do? Many thanks for the continued interest and support.

Yes, I'll have to see if I can catch some of the new episodes myself - I will have to work something out so I can view them. Interesting to see that Mulholland Watts has been added to the new cast. I'm keen to know what has happened with some of the actors that have passed - whether they managed to film anything with any of them etc.

      Thanks again.

    2. I expect the show coming back on air will bring around some searchers seeking meaning, renewed and new interest alike, so possibly some more traffic this way. But like the one comment below this one talks about, there is a lot to take in and digest here. It's like a banquet buffet and everything looks so good you don't know where to start.

As for actors no longer with us, I do know Mark Frost's dead dad will be showing up as Doc Hayward. What I want to see is if there will be any mention of Phillip Jeffries. With the addition of Watts, I suspect Mulholland Drive references, maybe even something to confirm Laura Palmer's presence at Club Silencio. If Naomi Watts has any scenes with Warren Frost, that will be three of the Frost clan she's worked with, having already acted alongside Mark's sister Lindsay in The Ring (I thee wed!)

    3. Talking about lost souls under the world, I think with Harold Smith there's one of those classic Hanged Man rainbow connections worth noting, in episode 7 of season 2. Right after Hawk finds the hanging Harold amongst the flowers, at the Palmer house we hear Louis Armstrong singing about "the colors of the rainbow," and then after some more time spent with hanged man Mr. Smith, there's the scene where Bobby and Shelly find out how much money they get left over from Leo's insurance, where Shelly says "forty-two" a few times.

  2. Thank you HP, I am a long time reader, it is just that I never really felt compelled to write anything, but this is such a great post that it deserves more replies than it is getting. I am about 10% into it (this blog post), so I may have add more later on, perhaps to a separate blog post and what not. I am looking forward to the new season, it may be hard to get it where I am, but hopefully it will be available so that we do not get spoiled reading about it elsewhere. So here we go.

It does seem plausible that the Giant and the LMFAP represent the give binary star system, I mean after all they are a giant and a red dwarf, so that is one possible meaning (great info on Hather by the way!). I always thought they represented Jupiter and Saturn, and in conjunction ("one and the same"). There is, as you point out, the Saturn lamp on the coffee table. Furthermore in FWWM, LMFAP is handing the ring (Saturn and its rings), and controlling the time ("is it future or is it past?"). The giant I always thought stood for Jupiter ("the gas giant"). The old waiter is dressed in colors that are dominant on Jupiter's disk, and his red bow-tie to me always hinted at the Jupiter's prominent red spot, although it could be argued that waiter's red apron could mimic that as well. Plus, the slow movement of the waiter could represent Jupiter's slow movement across the night sky (I may have read this last part somewhere).

Regarding Bowie, as you pointed out earlier, and something I noticed independently, is that Bowie appeared as if straight out of "Let's Dance" music video with his white suit and red shoes. "Let's rock" or "Let's dance". Now why Buenos Aires? It may be a subtle hint. Bowie is a music star and in Argentina, so that gives Astra Argentina, or Argenteum Astrum. Lynch may have been hinting at something here, what meetings somebody has been to, and who is involved. Now, I may be wrong, but I think that the lodge as was seen is the waiting room, and that the FWWM convenience store is the black lodge, in particular since Bob and LMFAP exit it and enter the waiting room. What has really immediately caught my attention, and certainly other people including you if I recall correctly, is that Bowie's Blackstar video has the same feel as the convenience store scene, very creepy. The song itself is telling, its first part feels like it is played backwards, but it is not, it is just that it was written to sound like it was played backwards, especially the drum section. And if you listen to the album version of "Sue (or in the season of crime)" at mark 02:52, you will hear the same sound that one hears near the electrical pole in FWWM or that LMFAP makes ("I am the arm and I sound like this").

Finally, going back to the initial Red Room scene, LMFAP says "she is my cousin, ... she is filled with secrets", but what if they really meant "secretes". This is a very deep show, and we are being tricked in more ways than one, nothing here is really what it seems, so one must be really careful.

    Best regards!

    1. Hi...thanks for responding. Yes, I've mentioned some of this before in other posts, maybe you've seen them, but I don't know? Bowie - "Let's Dance/Let's Rock" and "the red shoes". Bowie wears (Oz) red shoes in the "Peaks clip" and the 'red shoes' are a big part of the "Let's Dance" video based in Oz (Australia). You're right about the outfit - I didn't actually notice the summer suit similarity "FWWM/Let's Dance". "Let's Dance" track is also connected to a Crowley poem, one which mentions "dancing in the moonlight and with sirius" (serious moonlight). What you say about Argentina/Buenos Aires makes some sense too. Argentum/Silver (silver star) and he's a literal Black (Lodge) :)

Black Star also had that promo with the tear/compression in space/time imagery. This seems potentially black lodge related too. I'll have a think about this again, see if I can tack this on the end of the post. it's too good and weirdly interrelated to miss.

Many thanks for your comment, and keep 'em coming.

    2. Thank you, and please do not give up on this blog. I will try to write a bit more once I feel I may have something worth while to mention, but for now (I am not yet done with the post, it has to be read carefully).

So there are these two things: the child puts the mask on, where the mask surface is pretty much the same as the Moon surface (color tone, craters), so that makes the child the Moon Child (never read that corresponding novel by the way). Once it is looked at that character this way, certainly some new connections will spring up.

The other thing is the waiting room itself, or more precisely, its corridors. I am not sure if you have seen images from C.G. Jung's Red Book, but please take a look at the one here: That comes from a book that is now almost one hundred years old, and had been restricted (for at least fifty years), so that very few people had access to it before if was published. Now was what we saw in the show based on this image or reached independently? If it is the latter, then it makes everything even more surreal.

Finally, the Philadelphia scene actually repeats this environment, but mirrored! The corridor that Jeffries goes from the elevator to the office mimics the lodge corridor, it is just mirrored (in the show it goes from bottom-left to top-right whereas in the building it goes from bottom-right to the top-left), and where in the show we had LMFAP, here it is Cole with Albert and again some furniture! And Cooper shows up from the same spot (but mirrored obviously) where Leland's doppleganger approaches Cooper in the show. This may be a stretch, but it simply looks this way. The last piece of the puzzle here is that the corridor had the Aphrodite of Milos statue (on and off which is another clue), and yet a FWWM missing scene has Cooper in the corridor talking to Diane...

I do not think the new season will elaborate on this, but who knows what else will be brought in.

      Best regards!

  3. Forgot one more play on words being used: is it Tremond or "terre monde"? So we get the Earth and its satellite here, the Moon child.

  4. As you have noted before, Bowie was well-versed in the Kabbalah. "Here we are, one magic(k)al movement from Kether to Malkuth..." for instance.

I believe Let's Dance also uses Kabbalahistic references. "Put on your red shoes and dance the blues." On the Tree of Life, red corresponds to the Sephirot Gevurah or Power. Blue corresponds to the Sephirot Hesed or Mercy. Bowie goes on to suggest you should "sway through the crowd to an empty space", on the Tree of Life that would correspond to Da'at or the Abyss.

So, you can look at this song as an occult instruction to put on your shoes of power and dance right over any thoughts of mercy on your way to the abyss. Furthermore, in occult circles, there is the concept of the opposing forces on the right and left side of the Tree of Life being referred to with the Latin terms "Forma" meaning beauty and "Forca" meaning pitfall. So, is the Tree of Life a "formica" table?

Anyway, just some thoughts. Amazing work as always. Intrigued to see the new series.

    1. Also, an additional Let's Dance thought that may or may not pertain to Twin Peaks and the Lodges:

The cover of Let's Dance prominently features step instructions:

Combined with the body of Bowie's work (Time, Where Are We Now?, Changes, etc.) it really reminds me of the Time Warp sequence from Rocky Horror:

I could be way off, but I think it all relates to some sort of time manipulation ritual. Put on your red shoes and do the time warp again. And here comes Twin Peaks out of time 25 years after Fire Walk With Me.

    2. Yes, "Let's Dance" does have something to it in this context. What if it is played instead of "Under the Sycamore Trees" as Cooper enters the lodge? There is music that is playing, colors that light up the face, a crowd of characters (to "sway" through). There is a heart broken in two "because my love for you would break my heart in two" (just like Laura's necklace, and as Log Lady said, "where there was one there are two, or were there always two?"), "tremble like a flower" (a blue rose perhaps?). Let's dance for fear tonight is all? Both love and fear are there. Tonight is all? It just gets deeper and deeper.

    3. Fist and Anon... many thanks for the comments. I've been thinking about a few of these aspects from 'Let's Dance'. The "broken in two heart" and the "empty space" (abyss) are great additions. Bowie's 'Station to Station' is effectively (tree of life) sphere to sphere. Bowie bookended Lynch's 'Lost Highway' (Pathway) film, both are also linked to Elephant Man.

    4. Thanks to you, HP for providing all of your excellent analysis. Just happy to be able to contribute to the conversation.

  5. The table is the event horizon of Osiris as he is grown and as he is eaten. The sacrifice in the middle. The present age is under the power of the creative power, ie "theurgy/God", as being an external idol, a dead petrefecation, ie the wintertime age of Iron, Kali yuga. Why? Its a necessary phase where the petrefection is as one's mother .. escape or die. Mankind is in a container/prison of its "40", its mother as Mare as frozen water. The escape is a collective genesis of "seeing him whom they had slain", ie ourselves on the cross of time. The idol is the EXO of Roman Church/Venice/Maritime Law and its control. We are the creative middle point are food for the idol. Hence IHVH and QRST say "in how you think of me, I answer you". Oooops. We took our interior as ISO and fell into winter. Tophet is meat morsel and our children fed to the Molechian idol is how we serve the State as EXO and such is how this time works. Bar none. The escape will be our birth from the EXO back to ISO.

Noah means inch and is a remnant of how man's foot is directly related to his container, i.e. mile as 5280 feet. 528 is the hinge along with 582 of the ladder of the 18. The wisdom of the 18 is a circuit of how sunlight becomes sublunar and trapped in MEMbranes, i.e. it rained as one half of the circuit. How do we evaporate and regain light above sublunar? His container is his mother and she as the final waters is holding supreme compression until the time come's when all is forced to its final gate which is really Spring.

As you note the black lodge is the way to the white lodge just as winter is the hellish crucible in which the seed intelligence shatters its mother/cocoon on its way back to the Noetic Bau of a million years. A poem to our Mother Sister, of her paps of milk, of her pink wink and its lower waters.

    Be well, good work! Xo

  6. Let him practice speaking backwards; thus, for "I am He" let him say, "Eh ma I", or "E.M.I.", as in the record label that put out Bowie Let's Dance.

    1. Going back to the "Let's Dance" video again we see: a diner (!), electrical poles (!), a truck not unlike those used for logging in TP, as matter of fact, almost identical scenes of the diner and a truck have been seen in TP. Then, Bowie playing in the diner, where the floor has a checkered pattern (!), the video almost starts with a scene that is played backwards, indicating that the music on the radio is played backwards?! Then, a fan in the diner very much like the one in the Palmer house, a hill with two peaks in the background (!!).

The girl puts on the red shoes and there is a nuclear explosion (this may be telling!!!) behind the hill range.

And there is a snake on the wall in the museum with numerous "open mouths" that look just like the oil pool with white stones in the grove in the show, and Earle's mouth in TP and Laura's in FWWM. Finally, the red shoes are displayed on the third shelf, and no other shoes are on that shelf, where there are other shoes but not red on the first two shelves. The only thing that is not seen here is an owl :-) but maybe it is somewhere there after all.

Not as opaquely shown though, there is also the watch/time store, alien civilization forced upon the indigenous/native population, Bowie eclipsing the sun as he is playing, ending with a palm of a hand in the sun disk. Not sure what hand this means though (Palm Deluxe Hotel in Buenos Aires?).

    2. Howdy Bingers...yes, I've linked that to the EMI/Crowley Beatles and "I Am The Walrus" - and the Lennon lyric "I am he...". The latter was also referenced by "iamaphoney' and his 'rotten apple' (Beatles) series. Same goes for "Ian Iachimoe", McCartney's name spoken backwards - "Paper BACK Writer" (Red Room resonant). I like your "e-m-i" spot, though. Many thanks, again.

Anon, it's funny that you mention those aspects in this comment. Yesterday, I was watching 'Let's Dance' and spotted the diner, telegraph pole, tree, and long truck too. The telegraph pole has a type of zig-zag element at the top too. It does evoke a few of the segue shots from Twin Peaks - the logging truck passing the R&R Diner. As you say there is a "backwards' element with the "radio" and a "fan" too.

The nuclear explosion (after she puts on the shoes) denotes the start of a dream phase - where they imagine what might happen if she puts on the shoes (seems to be a social comment about consumerism). We see them trample the shoes in the same spot, after this dream phase element finishes. (Dreams etc, dreamtime aborigines). The aborigine painted men figures also look like the "giant" drawn on the owl cave map.

The ending hand shot really, really reminded me of Dune (with Cooper/McLachlan) and the hand in the circle from Paul's (McLachlan) dream/vision. Dune, a sandy desert planet - a bit like Oz/Aus in Let's Dance. Dune - Paul's father is the Duke (Prochnow), who is briefly in the Convenience Store scene FWWM.

Really great stuff guys...this is the sort of thing that I love to see here. Thank's both of you. :)

    3. Judy and Josie Packard (sisters) - both linked to the black lodge (along with Bowie). He found the ring at Judy's. Josie is Chinese...that's where "China Girl" (Bowie, Let's Dance LP) comes in. :)

    4. Sure thing, Hoss. Phonetic reversal was coming up with the Radiohead research few months back with "Like Spinning Plates" and "Daydreaming." Then there's the b-side that comes with "Where Bluebirds Fly" on the There There single," Paperbag Writer," alluding to the Beatles song. The music video for "There There" has a stop-motion Thom doff a pair of red shoes in exchange for some enchanted forest clothes, right before he's hounded by a murder of crows and turns into a tree.

Bone Machine was also coming up, with the band and the Pixies song and the Tom Waits album. A video for a track off of Waits' Bone Machine, "I Don't Want to Grow Up," has Tom in a red high heel, time-reversed footage, red curtains, and a diner that has the B&W zigzag pattern on their lamps. Scarlett Johansson did a cut of the tune on her collection of Tom Waits covers, a couple of them featuring David Bowie.

    5. I remembered it wrong, they are red and white trainers in "There there (The Boney King of Nowhere)", but if you search "Radiohead red shoes" the video still comes up.

I also forgot to mention the tree that appears in all of the reverse motion shots in "I Don't Want to Grow Up"
plus the "little bluejay" in a Tom Waits song called "Red Shoes" that's a live rendition of a song originally off the Blue Valentine album, where lyrics about "papa one-eyed jack" can also be found.

    6. Here are a few samples of Tom Waits lyrics, all from the 1978 album Blue Valentine:

"poison all the water in the wishin' well and hang all them scarecrows from a sycamore tree..."

"she wore red shoes by the newstand
as the rain splashed the nickle
spilled like chablis along the midway
      theres a little bluejay..."

"what you think is the sunshine is just a twinkle in my eye
that ring around my fingers called the fourth of July
when I get a little bit lonesome and a tear falls from my cheek
there's gonna be an ocean in the middle of the week

whistlin' past the graveyard steppin' on a crack
me and mother hubbard Papa one-eyed Jack

I come into town on a night train with an arm full of boxcars
on the wings of a magpie cross a hooligan night
I'm gonna tear me off a rainbow and wear it for a tie
I never told the truth so I can never tell a lie"

    7. Thanks for all the additions Bingers. I will have a look through them soon. I'm currently doing a "Let's Dance/Let's Rock" (Bowie/Twin Peaks) type of mash-up post - I think you're going to like it. :)

      Thanks again.

  7. That's great, and hopefully while it is not yet ready, here is one more note from me: I am not acquainted with complete Bowie opus but merely a tiny part of it. Nevertheless, the beginning of the Blackstar video to me feels like a recollection of the opening lyrics from Hello Spaceboy: "If I fall, Moon dust will cover me". So Bowie may have signalled there that he ultimately fell ("how many times does an angel fall"). And you will recall that the original Red Room scene, when we first see it, and the aged Cooper 25 years in the future, has a rather dusty floor, the floor from the show finale has a much cleaner look. And the first time it is seen (in the dream Cooper had), LMFAP is at first shaking very much like those creatures from the Blackstar video. it would be interesting if the Red Room appears dusty when we first see it in the new season.

And Copper fell too, he failed in his mission, or at least in a part of it. He may have saved Annie, but that we do not know yet. When Cooper wakes up at the end of the last episode he says that "he was not sleeping". But that is just his, I suppose, captor speaking. "I need to brush my teeth" is obviously a play on words: he needs to "sharpen" his teeth, he (Bob) is going to hunt again, he was biding his time. And in the very episode when Leland is buried, they ask where did that thing go, and for a moment camera clearly focuses on Cooper and at the very last moment veers off towards the woods.

So this season has to be about Cooper's struggle for redemption. It will be interesting to see if there are any parallels between what happens and what was shown in the Blackstar video, there may be some. I have no any foreknowledge of the new show, and I'd avoid any spoilers if I could. But I anticipate it will be much darker than the original, even though some of the humor will still be there. Ultimately, I feel after all these years that the regular Twin Peaks viewer can be compared to poor Rusty Tomaski: we are just waiting for our beer and yet Earle is about to shoot an arrow at us.

    1. Hallo Spaceboy is on the Outside album, an album that eerily relates to Twin Peaks in the sense that it is about a detective trying to solve the murder of a young girl. I always felt that Hallo Spaceboy was Bowie talking to those of us who grew up in the Moonage Daydream of the moon landing, who Don McClean called "A generation lost in space" in American Pie. I believe the moon landing was a gigantic occult ritual and I think Bowie and his perfectly timed Space Oddity was involved. He was on the Inside, even if the album Hallo Spaceboy appears on was called Outside. The Detective character is on the Outside, but Bowie knows a lot more than he lets on.

I think in Spaceboy he is wondering just how long the human race can go on in this timeloop they created where we all pretend we walked on the moon and that we are still exploring instead of just sitting doing nothing and watching TV while our "silhouettes are so stationary".

    2. Thank you, I suppose I should listen to all of that album, I have not yet. Now the opening lyrics I mentioned came from a PSB remix version, the album version does not seem to have them as spoken? Also, the original video for it (the PSB remix version) is no longer on YouTube.

So there is much more than meets the eye here and it works on another level, as you mentioned in the other posting. With Blackstar video in particular, I always had the feeling of "caveat auditor", I still do not want to see all of it, nor to look at it, very creepy. It is not what it seems.

    3. FITA- now you mention it there was a spoken section in Outside where a narrator speaks of 'the room above my shop' but I always heard it as 'moon'. Of course there is the room above the convenience store in TP

  8. This is the greatest post I've ever read analyzing Twin Peaks. I'm so far below (or above?) the digging you've done that I can't begin to add anything to this. Thank you and please keep writing.

  9. Lynch is a very difficult nut to crack. Every frame of every scene is jam-packed with symbology and he speaks in Twilight language almost to the point of making any exoteric plot incomprehensible (see Lost Highway for instance). While I've always liked watching Twin Peaks, it always felt like it was over my head and it still feels that way. Bowie, on the other hand, seems to be revealing himself to me a little bit at a time ever since his death.

So much of his work is about the Tree of Life and about time, that I can't help feel that the two are inextricably linked. With his inclusion in the Twin Peaks mythos and lending "I'm Deranged" to the Lost Highway soundtrack, I think it is safe to say that he and Lynch were fellow occultists engaged in workings together. That leads me to believe that ultimately, time manipulation lies at the core of Twin Peaks, as well.

An album that needs to be looked at closely I think is Bowie's 1995 album 1.Outside. This album on its surface is about the abduction and murder of a young girl in an act of modern art. A character on the album is Detective Nathan Adler who delves into this mess to solve the murder ala Cooper in Twin Peaks. The references throughout lead me to believe that all of the characters including Ramona A. Stone the murderer, are just split personalities of Nathan or, as in Twin Peaks, demonic possessive spirits like Bob. The biggest track from the album is The Heart's Filthy Lesson which was featured at the end of the movie Seven, another story about murder and detectives.

The line that stands out to me is from I Have Not Been to Oxford Town, in which a character (Leon Blank - Is That Leon Da'ath?) sits in prison awaiting trial for the crime and his defense is that he had never been there. However, the most striking lyric to me has nothing to do with the murder case. It is this:

"And the wheels are turning and turning
    As the 20th century dies

If I had not ripped the fabric
If time had not stood still
If I had not met Ramona
If I'd only paid my bill"

This is not the first time Bowie sang about the end of the 20th Century and the beginning of the 21st. In Time Will Crawl from 1987's Never Let Me Down, Bowie sings some 9/11 resonant lyrics about the beginning of the 21st Century:

    "I know a government man
He was as blind as the moon
He saw the sun in the night
He took a top-gun pilot and he
He made him fly thru a hole
    Till he grew real old
    And he never came down
He just flew till he burst

    Time will crawl
    Till our mouths
    run dry
    Time will crawl
    Till our feet
    grow small
    Time will crawl
    Till our tails
    fall off
    Time will crawl
    till the 21st century lose"

Those lyrics are almost nonsensical and Bowie used William Burrough's cut-up method to write them, same method Thom Yorke uses for lyrics where you take sentences and cut them up randomly to create new sentences that create sometimes unique statements, almost like the universe is communicating to the artist, not vice versa.

I think it all relates, and without a doubt, it is creepy, because pedophilia and murder lay at the center of it all.

  10. Thanks for yet another great post HLP. This is terrific!

  11. The whole thread I have now looked over, too much for me to consider at once. The Blackstar thing put me on the youtube video which now has over 33,000,000 views, wow!
Attach the Lazarus video and you find,41,000,000 more views there.I tell you what Bowie was a creepy character with David Lynch involved as well I'll never get the gist of it.One thing I kept going back to was a 1983 movie called The Hunger,Bowie had a big part in the movie, the star was Catherine Deneuve, she was a vampire who survived, highly sexualized.I once saw him in concert, lot of parts to this being whatever he was.

  12. Wonderful post! I haven't divulged all the information on here just yet, but i must stop my reading to make a suggestion considering The Waiting Room. imo The Waiting Room looks pretty much the same to us as The Black Lodge and The White Lodge.

Here's my interpretation of the part with The Waiting Room in the final episode, when Cooper first enters to hear "The Sycamore Trees" song and meets The Waiter/Giant and The Little Man he is as the latter says in "the waiting room"... however once he is given cofee (which soon turns out to be the same scorched engine oil smelling substance as referenced and used as a gateway before) and the substance is spilled, the magickian (The Man From Another Place) chants out between two worlds: FIRE.. WALK WITH ME, and at that moment we see a big burst of fire. Suddenly everything looks similiar but is not so nice and friendly anymore, Cooper have entered The Black Lodge.

The same thing happens in the film at the Convenience Store scene.. after the ring has been crafted and wed to Bob, Little Mike utters (chants out) FIRE WALK WITH ME and we see the red curtains to what is then probably the black lodge (and Bowie at least tried to follow them here, "Oh believe me I followed"). I agree with you that the end of FWWM that Laura is in the White Lodge with the angels.

  13. Young Pierre, Lynch's man/men (and son) in MIB FBI black suits, atomic creation/destruction, Trinity blast photo behind Lynch, creator/destroyer of (TP) worlds. So now there are vectors to/from Pierre and Coop, Jeffries and Cole. Agent Desmond too, I suppose.

Massive work. Much respect to you. I remember writing a term paper about inscribed circles (including the spinning record) throughout TP as season 2 was unfolding. Talk about baby steps!

At the time I was very much under the "spell" of Thierry Kuntzel's Camera Obscura piece on "The Most Dangerous Game" as seen through Lacanian, autoregressive dreamlike interpretation. A bit of a classic of sorts:

Again, however, your mental shifting, percolating and aggregating. Well, it's inspiring, and -- excuse me-- a DAMN fine cup of coffee.

    Thanks again.

  14. Gah. That link is for a German translation. Apologies. Much, however, is said in relation to visual echoes and the double's need to confront and/or destroy itself. Seminal work that you are many leagues beyond at this point.

  15. hey, heres something for you freaks to play with: in season 3 episode 8 the "experiment's" arms are backwards when she pukes up bob. the left and right are switched.

  16. You might enjoy this:

  17. Have of course been here before and read in a fairly thorough manner to supplement my interest in TP. I greatly value your work here sir - I cannot emphasize that enough, so thank you. I'm a bit, I'll use this word, obsessed, by numbers and their representative counterparts (characters standing in for numbers briefly, occurrences like this...), and would simply like to suggest for now, two things I picked up on a while ago but never committed to paper or any hard format. So we have in The Missing Pieces a scene where Chet Desmond and Stanley are exiting the vehicle to walk into Hap's diner. Now, as soon as Chet gets out of the car (slightly before Stanley), Stanley stops (as is customary I suppose), to wait for Chet so they may proceed in a pair toward the diner. There's something funny in this scene though - Once they are both caught up to one another, Chet and Stanley are aligned with the topmost glowing neon "Hal's" signage, where the apostrophe very clearly stands in as a number '9,' creating a quick, quite clear "119." Chet and Stanley, individuals walking in pair, hence our '11' constructed just momentarily on-screen, lining up very nicely from left to right to form a '119.' I noticed this in maybe my second viewing of FWWM's Missing Pieces and didn't even place a lot of importance on the oddity at first, but taking notice of the signage around the entrance of the diner, there are other "Hap's," signs which do not treat the apostrophe as a '9,' in any way whatsoever.

So... I am not yet sure, or am not yet willing to really go ahead and make some kind of determination here, some synthesis, not just yet. More to collect, more to take notice of (of course! haha). Also, and this more overt, we do very clearly see a yellow/black "911" sticker attached to the phone Mrs. Briggs uses when Sarah calls her the morning when Laura is discovered. Why am I even mentioning these things? Well, I really enjoy how you've put things together here, I enjoy anyone's mind whose able to create vast, interconnected webs of information (to me, these kinds of constructions are enthralling). If you wish to further explore some of these things with me or use any of this to your own posting, please go right ahead. Not concerned with being credited (not that what I'm saying here is necessarily novel, as I'm sure many others have noticed what I'm pointing out).

I'm finding that going back, exploring FWWM, Missing Pieces, S1 and S2, in conjunction with The Return, can be a lot of fun. I'm blown away, in many instances, by the sprawling, enigmatic qualities found in Twin Peaks. What I really need to do, since my observations are mere observations, is use clear stills, similarly to how you use images to supplement your explanations and ongoing study... I think this will really help make for more interesting connections. Plus, of course, and if necessary, use other references to flesh out whatever idea(s) I'm attempting to coalesce. Thank you again, by the way, I absolutely love your blogposts.

  18. Oh my ! That's VERY impressive ! Did you catch all these references by your own ? Great job anyway. Its a gold mine for ideas and concepts. Thank you !
